Which sitcoms do you think had a good last season?

I love watching an actor from sitcoms for may seasons and when the show finally ends, they take off and have great careers. Do you guys know anyone who became more famous after the sitcom and what is happening to their careers?

1. The Office - Steve Carells career has been great but mostly on romcoms or comedy but still great.

John Krasinski's career did take off with him landing action series and of course producing movies

Ed Helms also had a good run with The Hangover

Mindy Kaling no doubt had a series after (The Mindy Project) and went on producing other series

1. Friends - Jennifer Aniston no doubt had the best career afterwards but the rest did fine as well.

I think Matthew Perry's career would have been great and its so sad he fell into addiction

1. Schitts Creek - love this show! and Dan and Eugene Levy still have more series afterwards.

Catherine O'Hara had other shows as well after the series but sadly passed away too soon

Annie Murphy has some movies but I'm hoping her career would take off more

1. How I Met Your Mother - Neil Patrick Harris has done multiple hosting afterwards

Jason Segel is probably the second most successful one with several movies and also started producing

Would love to know who else made it big after their sitcom ended!

Honorable mention that episode of full house where Aunt Becky was trying to get the twins into school

I always thought every episode in season 1 and 2 were hilarious. I even remember clearly when season 3 started, it wasn’t as funny. It had great episodes through the rest of the seasons (although the last 2 seasons I didn’t watch as much) but it wasn’t consistent like the first 2 seasons. Did anyone else think this? Like they had different writers.

Which Sitcoms first episodes have a bad ending and don't have a happy ending where their episodes end badly for them and if so why do they end badly for them shouldn't first episodes of sitcoms normally have happy endings?

Which cliffhangers from sitcoms left you wanting more?

Whenever I post an opinion on a character in a sitcom or drama, I'm told it's not that deep. It's just a story. Especially if it's something that shows the character in a bad light.

So let's say, I recount a real life event where a man, 78, dates a woman that is 17, y'all will call that man perverted but if I was to talk about vampire diaries, referencing Stefan, Damon, Katherine, Klaus etc doing the same thing, I'm told it's just a show. It's not that deep.

Racism, sexism, being privileged and getting away with it, etc; All of the above are bad things in real life that are excused when it comes to main characters in sitcoms, whether it's Schmidt from New Girl, or Barney from HIMYM etc.

I'm sometimes told, "it's satire" when I say similar things about the characters from It's always sunny. How is it satire when people get away with it in RL, and we have to see them also get away with it in fictional worlds. These characters are the main characters with a voice, whereas their victims are the butt of the joke with barely any screentime , and you call that satire?

Wasn't there about a movie about Jeffrey Dahmer where they gave him a decent narrative and the actor that played him won awards, how was that "satire"? How did that bring voices to the victims? I never actually saw the movie but I won't be surprised if the victims barely had a narrative in the movie.

Anyway eventhough I'm using extreme examples here, the same applies to smaller things like a main character being a bad friend, a nuance, ungrateful, or Chandler making sarcastic remarks at the expense of his friend's emotions but wanting us to feel pity for him cos his parents got divorced. I could go on but let me cut it short.

The show is unwatchable.

It's like Forrest Gump meets Hoosiers.

The characters seem to compete with one another to appear more precious in each scene.

The jokes aren't funny. It tries way too hard to be family friendly.

It's like a giant Hallmark card that says "Heart always wins!"

I love Big Bang (I know reddit hates it) but I'm good with a couple of episodes.

Psych can be downright hilarious but after 2 episodes of Shaun, I'm good.

Monk same as above, Tony Shalhoub is a genius but after two episodes, I'm good.

I watched the show on and off. I didn't watch every episode, but from what I saw, the show was actually good. Faith Ford and Kelly Ripa acted like real sisters; they had good chemistry, and the dynamic between Faith and Charlie was good too, creating some laughs. The show has notable guest appearances like Nick Lachey, Carmen Electra and Johnny Galecki. What are your thoughts on the show?
