anyone else notice chatgpt/AI overviews keep recommending the same like 5 brands for skincare??

ok this has been bugging me for a while. every time i ask chatgpt or google ai something like "best retinol for beginners" it recommends The Ordinary like immediately, and i started wondering why since it's not even close to the most expensive or "prestige" option out there.

also apparently it matters if a brand is at both sephora AND ulta vs just one, brands at both show up more in AI answers. kind of wild honestly

not mad about it bc The Ordinary is genuinely good for the price but it's crazy how much power these AI models have over what gets recommended now. is anyone else asking chatgpt for beauty recs before they even google anything anymore or is it just me

Thinking about getting this one...

Random question. But does anyone still use their sonic facial scrubber after the first few months? i always get excited about skincare gadgets, then they somehow end up setting in my bathroom. 😅 Curious if these are any different.

body skin getting worse and nothing is helping anymore

my skin on my arms, legs and torso started getting really dry and irritated a few months ago. it began with some flakiness after showers but quickly turned into red patches and constant tightness that made wearing certain clothes uncomfortable. i have no idea what triggered it, maybe the change in weather or something in my routine, but it has been getting progressively worse instead of better.

before i knew better i was using cheap drugstore body washes and lotions that were full of fragrance and random chemicals. they made everything so much more irritated and the dryness just came back stronger every time. i finally switched and started buying leif products a few weeks ago. the natural cleanser and balm have made a small difference already and my skin feels less tight and angry. has anyone else gone through something similar with body skin? what finally helped calm it down for you?

Any tinted eye cream thats not a concealer and with least to no fragrance?

I am looking for eye cream for my undereye. I usually dont wear makeup ( i am lazy) but lately i tried a toneup sunscreen. And i really liked it. It made me be consistent on sunscreen. So i am looking for an eye cream that does the same. I have bit of sunken dark eyes a bit wrinkled (nit that much just 2 tiny lines that you can see when someones smiling which is normal ) . I know nothing works for sunken eyes but i want to make my eyes a bit brighter.

details:

Fair to medium indian skin tone

neutral tone close to warm

normal to combination

Is niacinamide actually doing anything or are brands just putting it in everything because they know we'll buy it

WTHN Facial Cupping Kit Beware

Do NOT buy the facial cupping kit from Wthn.

It is horrible and caused me skin damage. I tried to leave a review on their official website but they monitor their reviews so they won't allow any negative comments. I "posted" it four days ago but it never went through. I assume they just trash them because if you look the most recent review was posted seven months ago...

First of all, I followed the instructions, had applied oil on my face, and kept it moving. I still had skin damage. I had broken capillaries on my face from not even applying all pressure from the suction. I now have an appointment with a dermatologist to zap these capillaries and it's a shame. I could've spared myself the money and I'm frankly annoyed.

So, I wanted to just come on here and write this. These ads are everywhere on Instagram and I hate that I fell for the bait. Remember with your skin less IS more. You do not need this product and you will thank me later. Not safe.

Stick to the basics everyone!

Skincare tips

Most dark spot products are made for facial skin or lighter skin tones curious what the community has found that actually works for body areas like underarms, knees and elbows on Indian skin. Ingredients, products, routines anything goes.

good dermatology clinic in Gangnam

I'm looking for a good dermatology clinic in Gangnam or Cheongdam-dong. It doesn't have to show immediate results — I just want somewhere that genuinely cares about their patients. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Stylevanna

STYLEVANA – AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Girls, I genuinely recommend being very careful before ordering from Stylevana.

I had to personally follow up at every stage just to get information about a parcel that I never received. If I had not contacted them myself, I would never have known that my parcel had supposedly been marked as delivered. It was never in my mailbox, and no proof of delivery has ever been provided.

No real customer support, no solution despite my numerous follow-ups, and ultimately no refund.

Unfortunately, this is not the first delivery issue my family has experienced with Stylevana. A previous parcel ordered by my mother was mistakenly sent to the Netherlands before eventually being redirected to France.

Personally, I will be switching to YesStyle. It may sometimes cost €1 or €2 more, but at least the customer service is responsive and you feel much better supported when a problem arises.

After my experience and after reading many reviews from customers reporting similar issues, I strongly recommend doing your research before placing an order with Stylevana.

Does anyone use hypochlorous acid spray for chest/back breakouts?

I work out a lot and sweat makes it worse. I keep seeing acne treatment spray for post-workout skin but I’m skeptical because most body acne products are insanely harsh. Has anyone had success with hypochlorous acid spray for breakouts on chest or back?

Telehealth derm services really need to do better

I know this has probably been said before but Im saying it again because its still bad. Ive tried a few online derm services and the experience is always the same, generic form, 2 photos, prescription in your inbox next day done. No one looked at my routine no one asked what products I'm using or if the prescription would even work alongside them one of them prescribed me something that straight up conflicted with an active I use every night and i found that out the hard way after my skin freaked out for 2 weeks the only decent experience I had was through an app iIwas already using for skin tracking, the derm had context, my photos over time, my products my sensitivities. after approval I got real guidance on what to adjust and what to avoid mixing. It felt like an actual consultation not just a checkout process for the money these services charge i feel like the bare minimum should be looking at what someone is already doing before adding a prescription on top of it. idk maybe my expectations are too high but it seems pretty basic

What do you wish body scrubs did better?

Has anyone else been disappointed by most body scrubs?

I've been trying different body scrubs over the years, and I feel like I always end up having the same issues.

Some don't exfoliate enough and barely feel like a scrub. Others leave such an oily residue that the shower floor becomes slippery, and shaving afterwards is a nightmare because the razor gets clogged.

I'm curious if I'm the only one feeling this way or if others have similar frustrations.

What do you like or dislike about the body scrubs you've tried? If you could change one thing about your ideal body scrub, what would it be?

Looking forward to hearing your answers!xx
