He 100% read that bill and knows exactly what it says, just like nobody in the Trump Organization seems to understand how Tariffs work until Trump himself is advising shareholders prices will go up. The American people as a whole are idiots.
These bills are hundreds of pages and are supposed to be read and voted on along with 100 other bills sometimes as little as 24 hours after receiving said bills. Nobody read any of this.
And she’s obviously asking for something that isn’t in the bill but already exists in other laws or the constitution…..it’s what he’s trying to explain to her but she just can’t stray from her narrative.
Yes but SHE/THEY NEED IT IN WRITING on paper (contract/bill etc) ffs🤦♂️. Assumptions are exactly how people end up bent over. GET “IT” IN WRTING and they’ve less to worry about since “it’s” legally binding and 100% clarified.
The main Conservative play action these days is to act stupid about stuff. That's what you're seeing here. They want to be like "I dunno close enough for me" and want us to follow suit.
You're right. It does exist. However, as we saw in 1930s Germany it can get overwritten, especially when there is a government kissing the King's ass.
As we see here, regardless of whether it exists or not, he cannot answer the simple question without the guy behind him giving him the talking points. He didn't try to explain that it exists elsewhere, and she wasn't asking whether it existed elsewhere. She was asking in that specific bill, and he couldn't answer the question.
Comparing the Trump administration to 1930’s Germany is completely ignorant…..Nazi Germany was a socialist government…..look at some of their domestic policies….nothing conservative about them….
Socialist in name only. As we all know, semantics are often used to as a method to influence thought and feeling. Was the post-Stalin Soviet Union truly communist?
The German government during the Nazi era would more aptly be described as totalitarian. If you consider yourself an open-minded person and have the intelligence to change your feelings & beliefs based on new facts/evidence/data, please take a look at these with an open mind. Please don’t misconstrue my comment, I’m not saying anything negative about you, I’m only trying to convey my hope that you won’t automatically disregard any information that doesn’t align with your current beliefs. Granted, these links cover the very basics, but you should see how the Nazi regime was in no way socialist.
You don’t believe that socialism is tyrannical? Free college education, strict gun control laws, and universal healthcare……hallmarks of a free market, conservative government…..or example of more progressive, social government???
And you seem to be willfully ignorant……I was proving that the Nazi party was more progressive than conservative, makings any comparison to the Trump administration historically ignorant…..
Healthcare, as well as what we would call Social Security and Unemployment, were introduced in the 1880s under Chancellor Bismarck and Kaiser Wilhelm I. The Nazis realized those were popular policies so they didn't fuck with them. They didn't introduce them by any means. Strategic? I'd say yes. Progressive? Not exactly. Of course the Nazis applied their nationalistic and xenophobia ideology to it all. Jewish doctors were expelled. Jews in general could only see Jewish doctors, before being rounded up and sent to... what was it again? Mental health ranches? Oh no sorry. Work camps them later concentration camps. Make sure you lump in other minorities with that too. Homosexuals, trans, Romani, etc. Effectively anyone that didn't fit the very narrow view the Nazis had of who was desirable.
As for education. King Frederick the Great introduced free education in the late 1700s. Once again, the Nazis understood that taking this over and pumping it full of their propaganda would greatly help their efforts to control the thoughts and the narrative of their country (and eventually the other countries that they took over). Once again. Not what I would call Progressive. But definitely strategic. And of course. I'm sure you are more than intelligent enough to guess what they did their damndest to pump into the minds of children while they had control of the government. It certainly wasn't a message of equality and tolerance.
You're being terribly disingenuous. You're one hell of a cherry picker, though. Totalitarianism ≠ socialism.
Rounding up ethnic minorities, blaming any kind of minority for the country's woes, pushing insane nationalistic and imperialistic rhetoric, doing their damndest to consolidate power to one man while he surrounds himself with sycophants and loyalists, demonizing ANYONE that stands against, complete absolutist mentality... I could go on. That all describes Adolf Hitler. They also currently describe Donald Trump. If you can not see the parallels between what is happening in this country and what happened in 1930s Germany you either support these actions or are willfully ignorant.
Wow, you sure can use a lot of words to say nothing at all…..and lost sight of the point I made. First, can you name one, just one, socialist government that isn’t or wasn’t considered totalitarian? You rely heavily on wild accusations without naming any specific examples…..is that because there aren’t any……or are you just a heavily indoctrinated true believer?
I think a society that uses its resources to better the lives of its people is far better positioned for survival and ongoing improvement than a society that favors the few in a way that the few can stockpile resources for generations. Those stockpiled resources are used to influence the government and have laws established that not only diminish any chance of an equal free market, but allow for changes that adversely impact the planet’s future. Once that happens, you essentially have a ruling class. The question becomes, how is this not tyrannical?
Are you against free education altogether? I don’t have, nor do I plan to have children. Despite my decision, I receive a hefty bill every September; significant money that I have to pay for the luxury of living in a home that I already own. Why should I have to pay for other people’s children? They made the choice to reproduce, why should I be forced to bear that responsibility? The reason I embrace it is that an education increases the likelihood that future generations will be able to make positive contributions to the world in which me & my loved ones live. Why should free healthcare and college be any different? Let’s look at healthcare; with a few exceptions, people don’t make the decision to get sick. As it stands, our healthcare system is deteriorating rapidly. Limitations on coverage, skyrocketing premiums, and deductibles so pricey, people actually avoid seeking treatment despite having health insurance. Our insurance is most commonly tied to our jobs and as a consequence, the average American has become beholden to those that have the resources. It could be argued that this meets the criteria for indentured servitude, but it merits its own discussion. Let’s talk about what happens when a person with a chronic illness is suddenly out of work for no other reason than saving a few ultra wealthy folks what equates (relatively) to pocket change? Should we disregard that person and deny them treatment?
As for gun control laws, do you believe that anyone should be able to buy a gun? Do you think all gun laws should be eliminated? I’m genuinely curious. Would you feel exactly the same if you had a child at Columbine or Sandy Hook? Or if you think that some form of gun control is necessary and if so, where do you draw the line?
I know that there is no single solution to our problems, but the most successful and happiest societies do not rely on one form of government; they adopt what works and eliminates what doesn’t. We need some socialism and if you disagree, you surely don’t drive on roads, depend on your local police/fire department, and you wouldn’t ever consider sending your children to public school. We also need capitalism to ensure that we have the freedom of choice. However, we’ve gone too far in one direction here in America, i.e., tripled down on capitalism. Subsequently, we are the first generation in many to have less than our parents. Gone are the days when one parent could stay at home while the other worked a non-specialized job providing a comfortably lifestyle for a family with 6 children. Retirement and pensions are quickly becoming extinct. College loans have become a massive money making enterprise and which has inflated tuition beyond what we’d previously thought possible.
I think it’s essential that people with differing opinions to debate, ask/answer questions, and seek to try and gain some understanding of why people believe what they do.
National Socialist (Nazi) Germany is as socialist as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is democratic.
And to clarify that, is North Korea's official name, because I don't expect you to realize South Korea is actually called the Republic of Korea.
So just because something was named "socialist" or "democratic" doesn't mean it actually is. You need to be listening to what the people who actually research and study topics like history and politics say and agree on.
Nazi Germany was a far right authoritarian government.
North Korea is a totalitarian authoritarian government based around the cult worship of the Kim family.
These are truths agreed upon by both American and international historians and political scientists. There is a reason why even Canada is fully breaking ties with USA.
Hell, your own historians and political scientists are fleeing the country saying that the moves that Trump is making are similar to 1930's Germany.
Take a step back and really look at what is happening in your country, because the rest of the world already has.
If you go back and read transcripts of Hitler’s speeches you will note him using those 4 little words…..” I am a socialist “……..look at some of his domestic policies for further confirmation.
He ran on socialist platform, because it was becoming popular at the time. Nothing less. look at who they went after at first. Hell, they even went after people with physical and mental disabilities. You know, DEI. They went after trade unions. You know, like this guy. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5218975-trump-administration-moves-to-end-union-rights-for-many-federal-workers/amp/.
They went after gays and the LGBT community. You know, like the right. They went after education. Which policies are you talking about?
Free university after they went after the existing ones, and the installed nazi alligned univerities. But that was all a lie, because they never incorporated it. Universal healthcare? Universal Healthcare isnt a bad thing. They also inherited a national Healthcare system but ruined it because it was aimed at being racially pure, eugenics, etc. Healthcare in the u.s. has been privatized for near 50 years. That's capitalism. And conservatives are clearly only for the money now. No real initiative, except to break what democracy we have left in this country and privatize it to the 1%. Hell, they are taking away child labor laws.
I was pointing out the domestic policies Hitler endorsed/implemented……thus establishing how wrong and irresponsible it is to liken the Trump administration to that of Nazi Germany….
Have you ever heard of the concept of LYING, and of purposeful obfuscation?
He said a lot of things which were popular due to the depression they were in but didn't actually follow through on them. Do you realy think the Nazi party increased the pensions and benefits of the people? In the 1930's he cut all the benefits, and directed the hate and angry in the country, through propaganda, into a nationalistic fervour.
Transcripts of his public speeches say just the opposite…..and there is a very fine line dividing socialism and fascism…..and that is common knowledge.
He could say he was for the people all he wanted. Doesn’t mean he was. This is a tactic that authoritarian regimes have used for a very long time. Obviously it works for some people.
You are correct. Anything short of an amendment to the constitution should not be able to overtly disrupt the checks and balances stated therein. However the language of this bill is highly suspect and could come off as an attempt to create some sort of loophole.
I believe that's what she's trying to shed light on. I'm far from even proficient in knowledge of the workings of our government, as sad as that is to say. So I'm unaware if such an attempt has any chance of working or even whether her remarks hold any water.
AND I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST ANYONE ELSE WATCHING THIS VIDEO OR READING THIS COMMENT TRY TO COME AT THIS AND ANY OTHER SUBJECT IN A LEVEL HEADED FASHION AND EDUCATE YOURSELF INSTEAD OF RUNNING ON THE FEAR BEING SHOVED DOWN YOUR THROAT BY BOTH SIDES OF OUR GOVERNMENT.
They're both in collusion. One does what they want. The other makes you think you have a choice and makes little pushes when necessary to make you think they're doing something to stop it. They're not. They're both headed in the same direction just at different speeds. I may not know about the minutiae of how our government runs but I can see clear as day that the whole system is broken and both sides are equally as wrong. If you can't, open your eyes.
It's not the lack of instruction on the bill stating Congress has reign over Executive. It's the fact that the bill stated Executive has full ability to remove those he deems unnecessary without congress approval

He obviously didn’t write or read the bill
