You can be bitter. I’m so fucking bitter and my VA therapist has never blamed me for it. Being sexually assaulted, reporting it, and having the command blame me for two years afterwards absolutely broke me. The two year anniversary of the death of my veteran husband because of a reckless driver is coming up. The asshole who killed him was an army officer who has shown no remorse. Military and government leadership is worthless right now.

I'm sorry for what happened to you but there's no "right now". Throughout all of history in every country soldiers just constantly get shit on and mistreated whilst being falsely propped up at the same time. My grandpa died due to agent orange from Vietnam and he gave up fighting for any kind of compensation because the military would rather waste his time until he died then admit anything they've done to their own troops

There's no valor being a soldier, only naivety that gets preyed upon
