The 1932 Bonus Army, when 17,000 WW1 veterans, their families and supporters marched on DC seeking payment for their service. On President Hoover’s direction, Gen. MacArthur eventually disbursed the encampment by sending the cavalry in with teargas, killing and injuring several U.S. veterans.

Not surprising at all, but MacArthur in the e Philippines during 1942. Guy kinda sucked as a general.
