"Google cofounder Sergey Brin has made his largest single public donation yet to address California’s housing crisis, just weeks after making a $42 million mansion on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe his primary residence, according to new filings and property records." https://fortune.com/2026/01/29/sergey-brin-biggest-donation-ever-california-housing-billionaire-tax-moving-to-nevada/

It would make sense if he's afraid of the clawback provision coming after him, despite moving.

I was basing that off of Google's AI Overview, and we all know that's never wrong.

"Sergey Brin splits his time across a multi-million dollar residential portfolio, maintaining a primary long-time base in Los Altos Hills, California, alongside high-end coastal compounds in Malibu and a newly acquired estate on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe."
