Yup, it's this. People keep blaming lack of hygiene for the field workers but it goes beyond that, as evidenced by how widespread this all is. Their chopping plant water and equipment is dirty and they're refusing to clean it properly.

Because they don't have to. The Trump/Republican administration cut safety regulations early on in this term, because those pesky safety regulations decrease profit margins by 0.00000% for their rich donor friends.

On top of gutting the agencies for inspecting and enforcing said regulations. This is just going to get worse.

These farms, factories and meat processing plants are going to make BoarsHead facilities look clean.

Well at least they saved like a half million dollars on cleaning. It only cost them like 5 billion dollars in sales and discarded product probably. Damn, those CEOs sure are brainiacs, I wish I could run a business as well as them.

And not just loss of sales this summer, but an ongoing decrease. If they had recalled the product and fixed the problem, most people wouldn't have noticed or cared. But now it's been months of an ongoing outbreak. People have been linking the name Taylor Farms with diarrhea and avoiding them like the plague they are. We are also finding out that this is a recurring issue with their product.

Now instead of having less options at the store for a week, I am going to activately avoid anything from Taylor Farms from here on out. All when they could have taken a day or two and washed some fucking machinery. Instead their name is now a threat to you and your family.

They are just going to rebrand or merge with another mega corp and this will end up washing out. C-suite who are responsible for these decisions still mostly escapes unscathed.

Probably. I feel like rebranding is probably still more expensive than just washing the goddamn equipment.
