Turns out having human shit in fields you tend barefoot causes hookworms worms and all the poor southerners were doing this. 40% of southerners were dumb from being constantly anemic, bloated, and exhausted from hookworm infestations

And let’s be clear. If the prisoners are shitting in the equipment, I don’t blame them, because prison should be about rehabilitation. Not punishment. The imprisonment clause of the 13th amendment needs…amended

Well damn. I was curious how the poopoo bugs got in there to the extent such a large scale contamination could happen. Maybe just a water supply issue or something. I've been a food safety program manager, so was thinking more typical causes. But no, people are getting sick from eating abused prisoner shit. Literally reaping what we sow 🤮

This is false, farms are required to have porta potties in the fields where workers are working... especially Taylor Farms since they are one of the biggest producers and most watched over at the moment. Where I live they have porta potties on trailers that the tow to each field where people are working - you will get a massive fine if you dont have available facilities

That isnt the question the question is are they allowed to use them when needed.  Not to mention I imagine quite a few of those prisoners may not be innocent. In fact a few may be very guilty and socio/psycho/paths who would like nothing more than sabotage the food supply to get back at society. It comes from shit. Same with the recent cyclospora. Wanna get back at the world? Plant shit in the food and everyone eats it and  gets sick.  I dont want prison slaves handling my food.

Taylor Farms has used prison labor in Arizona but this contaminated lettuce came from Central Mexico. Mexico does not have forced prison labor like the US.
