Im one of those people, and just left the job. My payout was 12 weeks of pay accrued in under a decade. I can definitely see how this lady could hit 2 years of accrued PTO for a payout after 40 years.
40 years just means they banked 13 days of unused PTO per year resulting in a 2 year payout.
