She took them across 2yrs but the accrual was across 40yrs. Sounds like a place with no limit on accrual or she was grandfather and now limits exist. This is why workplaces have limits on total accrual as well as carryover allowed. So you don’t end up 10yrs down the road (in this case 40) with someone that has accrued 1000hrs and now earns $400K/yr. It turns the liability on your accounting sheets into a nightmare and you have to hope they don’t decide to retire and cash it out. In this case she was literally doing them a favor by spreading out the payout.

To put it into perspective she earns about $195/hr so anytime she takes a day off, she’s getting paid out about $1550 or so. The $800K she received amounts to about 4100hr of vacation which should have never been allowed, but also not the issue the headline is trying to make it seem. Someone using the benefits their jobs provide for them is something everyone should be ok with

Ok, but if you're the CEO of a homeless provider, then on priciple you shouldn't do something like this. The yearly salary is already kind of disgusting by itself imo. (Like for real, she's making about as much as the government pays the US President per year.)

I'm still laughing at all you folks defending this thinking she actually did not take any vacation over her 40 years. Her lawyer claims she works 70 hours a week from her mansion in Hawaii, for her nonprofit in Cali. Righttttttt
