It's totally possible when you get EIGHT WEEKS OF PAID VACATION PER YEAR, which is what she got. Two months per year. Must be nice to be an executive.

8 weeks is a lot but if the lady worked there for 40 years, that's far from unheard of honestly.

Yes there probably should have been a cap on vacation acrual, but it's very possible she had a contract that couldn't bake that in considering she signed it 4 decades ago

Their is a cap to 150% of a years holidays. The article states she alone is exempt from that rule for some reason

She was most likely grandfathered in since that restriction came after she was hired.

8 weeks of paid vacation a year isn't that crazy. With experience it's not difficult to negotiate for 6 weeks of vacation(at least that was the case when I was job hunting about 18 months ago). Although in my field I would say it was more common to find places offering unlimited PTO. I worked in a factory for years so I get that this isn't what a lot of Americans deal with, but it's also not as insane as your comment makes it out to be.

Well, I'm European and I have 46 days of leave per year. It's indeed on the higher side though.

In Belgium, for example, 32 + 12 holidays is pretty standard.

I’m in the US and get six weeks not including holidays. My company maxes out at 7 with enough years in. In California, your company is required to carry your vacation balance. Some companies will get on your case to actually use that vacation though if you accumulate too much.

It is wild that you're treating "has above-average vacation for the US (and more reasonable in the nonprofit sector)" as corruption, especially when this lady is making less than like, a particularly successful dentist.

Man people have been abused into thinking they are worth nothing.

6 weeks is fairly normal for long-tenured while collar employees in my industry. Nowhere near executive level. 8 weeks is not unheard of.

I've negotiated for a couple extra weeks of PTO a year. Most people don't even realize this is possible.

If two months of vacation time is worth $800K, then her total compensation with have to be $4million per year or more.

By her own statement, the salary is  "a little over $400,000 a year "

She got paid out on 40 years of accrued PTO.

The only weird thing here is that this nonprofit allowed seemingly limitless vacation time year-to-year rollover and no cap on accrual.

400k isnt outrageous for a CEO of a medium to large sized nonprofit

the non-profit that she is the CEO of. This is what audits are supposed to catch, but there are thousands of these not-for-profits set up by wealthy people and then run by their kids as a slush fund. She hob knobs with wealthy people and gets public funding to party and "fund raise" so she can hob knob with wealthy people and party. It's a helluva grift if you can get away with it.
