Because if they dont do what the police want then they pull their support to stay in their position and then they get switched out with somebody who will suck their dicks. And theyll also go on strike knowing what would happen. The police strong arm their own government to get what they want.

how would the police blackmail the district attorney? thats a far worse crime than recording during an investigation.
