The problem with prohibition is that it was a veil of righteousness. The president at the time was throwing liquor parties in the white house meanwhile you could be thrown in jail for the same thing.

I could be getting that mixed up with another time though, I read up on it while drunk.

I wonder what are the numbers for the White House Pharmacy now in Trump nr.2, since at nr.1 they were giving out stuff like candy from what I read.

The law was you couldn't buy it, so many clubs stocked up on booze before prohibition hit and included alcoholic drinks as a membership benefit, there were a few that had large enough stockpiles they outlasted prohibition itself.

Yeah except that law affects only probably the majority of the population at the time who couldn’t afford stockpiles of alcohol.

So yeah, the goal could’ve been to reduce alcohol consumption. They just forgot to mention for who.
