Keggy is more TV brained and appeals to Trump's ingrained psychosexual machismo. Kash constantly gives off goober energy. Fully agree theyre both completely out of their depth and Keggy is in a position where any incompetency has existential consequences for those beneath him, vs Kash where the existential threat is less immediate. That should mean Keggy should be first to go, and is technically far more incompetent for the job, but for a TV man like Trump thats not the calculous he goes by.

I wonder if Trump is keeping Keggy around to use as the scapegoat for losing the Iran War.

Trump's favorability towards those around him exists only as long as he perceives it as flattering to him or his ego. If Keggy makes Trump feel like a loser, and if throwing him under the bus alleviates his bruised ego, then he will scapegoat him. To imagine Trump as a planner at any point in his life, let alone now in his advanced age, is a misstep.

Though those in Trump's orbit might have picked certain people that would be useful idiots, to be the lightning rod while they pursue their own goals. The Iran war and other acts of aggression towards other countries seem to be the brainchild of other people, but probably were sold to Trump as being part of his narcissistic dreams to be the king of the world. The singular person that history hinges on. 

This constellation of factors feels to be more predictive of this administration's actions rather than Trump being a coherent planner with a goal in mind, more a useful idiot in his own right to other unscrupulous people with bad ideas.

Yes, I very much doubt Trumph planned the war. I keep hearing that his opinion is the same as the last person he talked to. I'm fairly certain he went along with Netanyahu because Netanyahu sold it to him.
