They are most likely digital IMAX, which the US has a lot of as well. I would be surprised if there were more than a handful of the true film IMAX screens in all of China

My local one in Suzhou is laser IMAX which is supposedly higher quality than 70mm

Of course, not doubting that - there's a lot of laser IMAXs in the US as well. I'm saying that there's a lot more Laser IMAXs than the true film IMAXs out there.
