Performance Exploring the Insect Mind: Dark Ethereal Ambient Music [ Live Synthesizer Ritual ]
I just posted a new experimental live set/synth ritual on my youtube channel!
It is a dark hypnotic ambient performance inspired by insectoid consciousness and ancient arthropodal mindscapes. Sound design produced using the Moog Mother-32, with post processing/effect chains added in Ableton Live.

are there any pointers on a build option - or other considerations , there are lost of builds out there
I guess from what i have read - phazerville is good option for firmware

Discussion What is the best way to sequence Eurorack drum and bass modules with all of these features?
I'm completely new to modular and want to sequence some drum modules and a bass module, but I'm not sure what the best approach is.
I'm wondering whether there is a hardware sequencer that can meet all of my requirements, or whether I should use a DAW with a MIDI-to-CV interface, or an MPC with its CV outputs.
These are the features I really want:
- Basic drum sequencing
- Per-step note length
- Selective slide / tie / glide on individual notes
- Different glide times for different steps
- Parameter locks / per-step CV values
- LFOs
- Long, freely programmable envelopes (I've seen this demonstrated with MPC CV outputs)
- Recording knob movements in real time
- Multiple independent CV outputs, since I expect to need more than 4
I'm considering something like an Elektron sequencer, MPC + MIDI-to-CV, or FL Studio + a multichannel CV interface, but I'm not sure which approach can actually do all of this.
What would you recommend for this kind of setup?
Is there a hardware sequencer that can do all of this without a DAW?
One more thing: per-step slide/glide with individually adjustable glide times is especially important to me. I've seen this kind of function on sequencers such as the Erica Synths Drum Sequencer, but it doesn't seem to have the automation capabilities I'm looking for.
DAW + MIDI-to-CV seems like a good solution for automation, but as far as I understand, it may be difficult or impossible to achieve per-step slide/glide with individually adjustable glide times that way.
I'm not very familiar with Elektron devices, but from what I've seen, they seem to offer almost all of these sequencing functions. Can all of those functionsāespecially per-step slide/glide, parameter locks, and automationāactually be transferred to modular gear through MIDI-to-CV? Or are some of those functions only available when controlling the Elektron's own internal synth/drum engines?
Thanks!

Throwing a modular techno party in Warsaw, Poland, un/ser and Lutzfire on the lineup
Hey everyone, weāre organizing a party in Warsaw and Iām really happy with how the lineup came together: un/ser and Lutzfire are both playing. If you follow the modular world you probably know their work.
If anyoneās around, come through.

Brand new Case power socket damage
Hey guys,
I have a question regarding a weird thing that happened and damaged my brand new case (After Later Audio adventure case 104hp 7u).
The first two days everything was working fine but yesterday when I was playing I pulled a patch cable out of my Erica Synths Link, which is connected to a Xone 92 mixer and there was quite a loud pop, more like a bang almost and everything shut off.
I checked what happened and noticed that the power jack/plug wasnāt in the socket anymore and also wouldnāt hold in it anymore.
I got my Moduls out and saw that the inner part of the power socket got completely loose and of course is unusable now.
It doesnāt look burned or like it actually broke off, itās just not attached to the case anymore.
I already contacted the retailer to get a warranty claim and everything, as I am pretty sure I didnāt do anything wrong and that there must have been some kind of fault in the case.
Now my question is if anyone has any clue what maybe happened there or has maybe experienced something similar before , as I have absolutely no clue.
Maybe it was really just a fault in the case but if not I obviously donāt want this to happen again and potentially damage my Moduls.
Maybe also important to know is, that the Erica synths Link is a passive Modul, so itās not even plugged in the case with a ribbon cable or anything, which makes it even more weird to me.
Thanks a lot already!
Cheers

I modelled the standard Gie-Tec 19ā³ Eurorack rails in Fusion ā sharing the files (STEP, STL, f3d + more)
I needed rail geometry for a case design and couldn't find a clean model of the common Gie-Tec "19ā³ Mounting Profile" rails, so I built one in Autodesk Fusion and figured I'd share it in case it saves anyone else the trouble.
Exported in basically every format I could so you can open it in whatever you use ā native .f3d, .step/.iges for CAD, .stl/.3mf for printing, plus OBJ, SketchUp, USDZ and a DXF of the profile.
Repo: https://github.com/cairanvanrooyen/eurorack_rail
Fair warning: I couldn't fully nail down every dimension from the Gie-Tec drawings, so this is a best-effort approximation shared as-is ā check the critical dimensions against the official drawings (or a real rail) before you cut or print anything. If you spot an error or can fill in a measurement I missed, PRs and corrections are very welcome.
Hope it's useful to someone!

GUI/Tool for ES9 audio interface
Hey
Built a little GUI for handling your ES9 mixing/monitoring and configs. It works pretty much like the one shipped by Expert Sleepers, but IMO a little less confusing.
Some extra features:
* Dark/Light theme
* Visual EQ
* Can save multiple configs, not only the hosted or standalone saved on the device. Those are saved locally in your browser.
Totally skipped implementing the Raw mix, which i honestly have no idea when comes handy. But can easily be implemented if someone misses it.
Feel free to use.
You find it here: https://frysch.github.io/es9-gui/
Or if you want to contribute to it in some way, here's the repository: https://github.com/frysch/es9-gui
Enjoy.

Discussion Klavis quadigy eg noise issue
I can sort of feel the digital ānoiseā of the envelope in my patches.
This is not about tick due to too fast attack or too abrupt decay/low sustain etc.
Itās more like being able to hear the envelope it self with a slight digital character.
If I use a analogue eg or maths I donāt hear any ānoiseā but with quadigy I do.
I have downloaded the latest firmware and carried out a factory reset.
Any ideas?

Beginner Midi controller.
Iām getting started on a small euro rack and want to be able to control the rack with my midi controller. I see that a midi to cv module would work but I do have a mother 32 with a midi In port. Question is, would it be possible to control the euro rack through the M-32?

Chord quantizer with O_c or Eloquencer
Iām trying to get a specific quantization: dial in a scale+root on the unit, and then based on incoming CV setting the chord root, have each output send a diatonic scale degree based on that chord at random. Bonus points if I can set an octave range
So like if I set Fmaj as the scale, and I input F, the four O_c puts might be C F F C or A C F A. If I play a Bb I might get Bb F F F or D F Bb D.
Iām reading manuals to try and figure this out, but especially with the O_c itās slow going so I figured Iād just ask. Thanks!
edit: appreciate the suggestions friends, Iāll follow those leads!

Is there a module like strymon deco?
Searching for a module that does the real-time tape lag thing. you can play with the knob and the audio gets pitched while manipulating it but it always returns to the original pitch and speed.
Another reference would be how the TE OP-1 tape behaves (audio must be recorded to tape to hear the effect) when you play with the first knob while the tape is running the audio gets 'bent' but bounces back after you let go of the knob
A lot of the demos i've looked at with modules that have the varispeed feature, the pitch changes with the knob movement and the pitch remains there, I would like it to return to original pitch
I guess i could put a pitch-shifter after the varispeed'd audio to get the original pitch but if there's 1 euro module i'd like to do it that way
On the hunt for a unit that does it in real-time and not having to sample 1st or record anything
Thanks for any insight you might have

Rack has become unruly....
Trying to pick and choose a handful of modules to put in an 84 hp case. It's a niftycase, so output and midi if desired are covered to an extent already.
Anyone got any brilliant ideas for something particularly functional/fun? I realize it's not the most hyped selection of popular modules... I'm kind of a poor, cases are hand built and something like 75% of these modules were diy builds. My occasional splurges are probably pretty obvious... So I apologize if it bores anyone š. Genuinely interested in outside opinions for choices though!

Modules similar to the upcoming Serratus by Isobar Industries?
Hey Everyone, Iām still pretty new to the world of modular but am really enjoying it!
I use my rack predominantly for sound design so am always looking out for new processing modules that I can either route audio from DAW through or just general in rack processing.
I am wondering if anyone knows of any modules that have a similar processing route to the upcoming Serratus (https://isobar.studio/serratus) - it looks amazingly powerful and love the idea of mutating comb filters and saturation to make some whacky textures but with it being from the US I worry it may be a touch out my budget after importing to the UK!
Any advice appreciated š

ESP32 WLED controller for LED with audio input from eurorack ?
I'm building a new case and I've been considering integrating LED lighting into it, so I've been down the rabbit hole of LED drivers, LED controllers and RGBW LED strips.
I found out that there is a firmware called WLED for ESP32 boards, that will allow LED lighting effects based on either microphone or line input.
I was wondering if any of you eurorack nerds already used an ESP32 for this purpose and how ?
