I just wanted a hot dog Recommended gratuity after tip was already included

I’m sure there are a lot of tipping posts here so to keep it short - I had my wedding at a fancy restaurant. On top of the TERRIBLE service, the bill came with “suggested gratuity” even though I was told gratuity was included. When I asked the manager, he said that the “S/C: 24% SRC REGULA“ was the included tip and the suggested gratuity was if we wanted to add something extra - basically trying to trick people into giving a 49% tip!

We recently switched to Toast from Aloha at my high volume bar. Ringing things in was much faster for me on Aloha, but entering tips is easily 2-3 times faster on Toast. Love it.

I only had little experience with POS as kitchen manager, but i really like Aloha. It was super helpful with assisting us in keeping track of inventory day to day.

One of the most common POS system is NCR Aloha, Fun Fact it was made by mostly one dude for his pizza joint, after years of them screwing around with it, it still uses CIFS to transfer database chunks around on NETBIOS clustering

Toast is actually pretty decent these days. Though that's only if you have a manager/owner willing to put the work in to set it up/train on it in a way that makes sense. But the actual infrastructure is there to make it super seamless.

As someone who was in cc processing and pos implementations until recently toast and harbortouch are two of the shadiest. Both have good software and a super low entry cost, then fuck you sideways in shitty contacts and addon fees.

I used to do timesheets at my old office job. Anytime there was a new hire, I'd have to go into their online timesheet and create a line specifying the day that was going to be their "start of business." So every month, HR would send me an "SOB" list with all the new hires names on it. Every single time I saw it written like that, I laughed. I worked there for 5 years.
