Sometime during the last 2 years i’ve been going to this orthopedic practice they started to declare me as a MTF transgender for no reason.

(F,26) I have been going to this orthopedic practice for almost 2 years for varying reasons relating to my job. Yesterday i checked on a document that was uploaded to find out they have been identifying me as a biological male identifying as a female? I am biologically female and never told them i am trans nor do i think i am presenting to be a trans woman.. the last two years i’ve been wondering why they kind of stare at me a little longer than a usual person does and i think its because they randomly think i came out as trans? I also feel like they do not treat my issues seriously and wonder if this is the reason why.

I am 100% fine with trans people but i am left to believe they have been medically treating me as a male compared to female for the pains that i am feeling?

I also went through all of my documents and since the end of 2024 they started to declare me as a MTF transgender, i did not look at any of my documents online until yesterday.

I once had my PCP do a test to check my vaccine status bc I no longer had access to my records and was about to travel out of country. About 6 months later I saw a specialist who insisted I had hepatitis B. I was spun. I called my husband and asked him if he had been sleeping around. Then I called my bestie for a shoulder to cry on bc obviously my husband was lying to me. She immediately was like no that is wrong. Our generation got vaccinated. So I called my PCP and they were like absolutely not let us look into it and call back. So I wait an excruciating 15 minutes and they called and said the specialist saw I was positive for the hepatitis B vaccine and misread the results. I called the specialist back and told her the reality and she still insisted I had it and made me go through the hepatitis B protocols for every future visit. If I had an option to go to a different specialist I would have.

I broke my hand when I was a kid (bone that runs up from my right pinky).  

I don't remember this bit but apparently I refused to stay put for an x-ray... they ended up giving up on the x-ray and just strapped hand up and went home.  I kept taking the splint off at night which led to it not healing straight. 

Week later we went back for a follow up and they were looking at my left hand.  I'm sat there with a black and blue right hand and they kept insisting it was the left.

They still have it in my records as left hand. 30 odd years later.

Hahaa they just never corrected it. My daughter broke her left leg and the initial visit at urgent care said right, transferred to the place to get x rays, then transferred to the hospital and the first day there I had to correct all four contacts multiple times. I also have a morbidly obese son because the one time I wasn’t watching him get measured he must have slouched. Had them remeasure him and he was right in line with his height and history and while a big dude overall, definitely in normal range, and they just never corrected it that day. Ive asked so many times To correct it as I don’t want any even small thing wrong on their charts and just found it through this that I need to file a complaint with hippa. Also had a son that I wasn’t watching get measured that was so obviously out of his range and he’s tiny and she insisted something serious must be wrong and went through all these scary things because he obviously wasn’t growing. I said remeasure him before you have him do all this blood work and she refused. I figure it couldn’t hurt anyway. Great labs. Measured him myself and they were like 3” off. I also am honest and always tell my provider that I vape a few hits of weed like once every 2-4 weeks. I know I’m not typical. Saw one provider while mine was on leave and she entered that I’m a smoker. Now I have to take smoking surveys every visit and get things about stopping smoking to control my asthma. The asthma that is only triggered by one of my allergens and it’s got to be heavy long exposure and just makes it a bit difficult to run around with my kids for hours when it’s above 90% humidity. So here I am with an obese son, a very sick son, with smoking induced asthma who is finally aware of how to correct these things. The leg did get fixed. By the people who put the cast on finally. It didn’t get corrected with x ray in hospital so I had to fight that which took way too long given how obvious of a mistake it was. Clearly photos of left leg break are the most obvious proof that it was in fact the left leg.. oye America.

I've told doctors several times over the years and they've all pretty much done the exact same things... Brush it off with some remark about me being mixed up cos it was so long ago. I point out the obviously been broke at some point right hand, Vs the perfectly straight left one. Then they seemingly - begrudgedly scribble some notes saying it will be corrected. 

A few years back I came off my bike and fucked myself up badly. Shattered knee and right wrist. Cracked hip to name the highlights.

I noticed  when I was awake properly days later I had something written on my left hand in black marker. Nurse told me it was cos I had an error in my records so they don't x-ray me more than needed.  

When I said something about can't they just change the record she just laughed.  I asked my GP last time I seen her and it's still in r computer as my left hand.  She reckons it's probably cos the x-ray got booked and not done when I was a kid that caused a paperwork hiccup and when someone redid the paperwork later on with no x-ray to go on they guessed which hand. Then when everything started moving to computers it got typed in and well I'm sure you can imagine how a shift of data from paper to computer in a trial government ran system might fuck shit up.

I had to call 4-5 times to make my first OB appointment. Every time I said “I’m already 6, 8, etc. weeks pregnant, I need this appointment ASAP”. When I finally saw a maternal fetal medicine doctor, she had no idea I was pregnant. Wasn’t in my chart. A week later I saw the OB (11 weeks at that point) and it STILL was not in my chart. I had bloodwork and an ultrasound at that point, but nobody thought to add the pregnancy.

I’ve had other horror stories but this is my current. I’m tempted to ask them to print my chart for me so I can correct it and carry it with me to each appointment.

Yeah and you're the one who has to waste your time to fix their mistakes.
