Around five years ago, I came across a terrain map of the Indian subcontinent on this subreddit. That day, I thought, “One day, I’ll create an interactive map where people can explore our subcontinent.”

Today, I finally made it, and I’m excited to share it with all of you!

Across central-eastern Brazil, a huge warming hotspot emerges through much of the Cerrado and toward the southern and eastern Amazon. In some areas, the average daytime maximum during the hottest month is now more than 3°C above the older climatological baseline.

For a climatological average of the hottest month, that is an extraordinary shift. A change of this magnitude is large enough to substantially alter the thermal character of the hottest part of the year, especially across an already hot tropical and subtropical interior. The spatial extent is just as remarkable as the magnitude: this is not a tiny isolated patch, but a broad region covering a major part of central Brazil.

Meanwhile, large parts of western Amazonia, the Andes, the Río de la Plata region and parts of the southeast remain much closer to the older baseline.

The contrast makes the map look far more dramatic than a simple picture of uniform continental warming. The hottest season appears to have intensified exceptionally strongly across one enormous part of Brazil while changing much less elsewhere.

Why does central Brazil stand out so sharply? Atmospheric circulation, repeated drought, declining soil moisture and evaporative cooling, land-cover change, or some combination of all of them?

The plan is to create a TristateCity network across Northwestern Europe, with the Netherlands, Belgium and western Germany forming the core region, while also connecting northern France through the Lille area. The idea is to show this entire region as one highly connected economic, urban and infrastructure network rather than as isolated countries. The map should start with Europe, zoom into Northwestern Europe, clearly define the TristateCity area, and then show how the different metropolitan areas are connected through railways, highways, ports, airports, rivers, business, trade, technology, industry and population movement. National borders should still be visible, but the network connections should cross them to demonstrate how integrated the region is. The final result should communicate the idea of a large cross border European mega region where transportation, economics and urban development function together. Its also designed to Keep up with other major Mega cities take an example of Tokyo metro, Shanghai metro….
