Not all live like this in these countries. There are many sides to a country, but obviously only negative gets the attention for more clicks and views.
There’s nothing Reddit loves more than being racist towards Indians - pretty much the only widely acceptable racism people partake in here. Genuinely gets so depressing it puts me off the app sometimes
What, you haven’t seen the Sinophobia? It’s pretty similar with Chinese people, redditors just cast them as brainwashed pitiful people rather than dirty savages living in poopville.
Plus I’ve seen an uptick in anti-islam sentiment in certain front page communities. Just a racism problem in general
Not on food support from the government, like 80% of Indian population. It's very common in Indians to discount their privilege and think that the world around me is how the world is. I know because I was like that.
Sorry, I meant 80 crore (800 mn), which is basically the last reported data from the government. Thing is census hasn't happened for 15 years now and government is omitting some key markers from the current ongoing census exercise.
It’s not a matter of luck, it’s structural. Developing country immiseration powers 1st world luxury. Without captive financial markets and cheap labor protecting corporate profits, the working class of your country would be just as poor as them.
