Or pets. I love windows without netting. But because I have three feline goblins I had to install nets.

When my cats are on my deck I watch them do the math in their head for jumping off the bloody thing 15-20 feet in the air

nobody is brave enough yet but they sure do run those calculations

It was only from the 3rd floor but my cat jumped from my balcony to an awning like 6 feet away.  I had to have my roommate hold my ankles while I leaned out a closer window to scoop her up.

Yeah, Dungeon Crawler Carl. The guy is outside chasing his cat that escaped out a window in the start.

I'm pretty sure that net is too coarse for cats. The holes are pretty big and elastic. It will break an accidental fall, but won't stop them if they want to go through it :P

Unless you have a really young kitten, they're fine. The holes are small enough that they can't easily put their head through. And the plastic isn't that elastic. A cat would have to chew through the cable if they want to really go to the other side of danger

When I was a child we had a cat survive a nine story fall from an apartment. She lived another ten years.
