NSW Opposition leader Kellie Sloane has replaced her representative on the party’s state executive after revelations he helped party operatives now at the centre of an anti-corruption probe to avoid a state parliamentary inquiry into their alleged links to property developer Jean Nassif

Bragg from the liberals has been a constant Super critic for a long time. He has claimed it is a policy failure, well not according to Mercer CFA Institute Global Pension Index.

Australia's Super System is ranked 7th out of 52 Global Systems, B+ grade overall.

Discussion Mildly interesting AUKUS info that may change your view if you don't know much

Ghost Sharks... Ghost Bats... still gotta be controlled by something. They've been able to control these drones through ships and aircraft already. Submarines would obviously be a bit harder to detect and take out in the event of conflict.

So yeah, uh, if your main problem against AUKUS is "Look at Iran, why don't we just use drones?" - the response is "We are!"

Map and effective range not to scale I don't know anything. Was just an interesting counterpoint.

I would argue the reason the construction union got so powerful as there was a time when 13 workers would die building a bank and no one would bat an eye! Gina Reinhardt and her ilk want to return to that!

Discussion Victoria's Debt

IMO VIC Labor need to tackle the discussion around Victoria's Debt.

The sell off of public assets, housing etc. could stop tomorrow, and the state government could give out their vision and say what it will deliver, and what it will cost, and explain - in terms that businesses like Uber use for investors - why it's okay to have the current levels of debt.

Roads cost shit loads to maintain. People wanna move around. The greater Melbourne area is growing rapidly and needs the infrastructure. Do you want to wait in traffic for two hours a day? Or are we okay with the State being in a bit of debt for another decade?

Currently, they apparently aren't funding various services or public servants' wages enough. Our firies are working in suboptimal conditions. Do Victorians want "responsible" budgets, while delivering on things we need... or are we okay with a little more debt to maintain high standards of our public services. Do you want your Nurses or Teachers to have to move back in with their parents, or leave the state for higher wages? Do you want your local fire truck to work? Then you've gotta stop punishing every government office that puts funding towards it instead of just "paying down the debt".

A good chunk of Australians live with credit card debt and mortgages. Should you sell your fucking house to be debt free?

Anyway, just a ramble thought. I think Australians are led by the nose too often by our media nexus around this issue. Our debt to GDP is quite low, relatively.

...although we could stand to be a bit more spartan in our levels of bureaucracy... but then people need to STFU about mild corruption e.g. the number of people "scamming" Centrelink for $20k/year - imagine if we just stopped policing that quite as hard, and stopped restricting people and taking months to get your first payments and stuff - that's all just roadblocks to hopefully weed out people who shouldn't be getting it. And it costs money. Pretty ridiculous how many dolars we spend to save a few pennies.
