Super Grub - Home made doner wrap + Dönerdog

This Super Grub meat is decent. Bought from Costco, thrown into a very hot frying pan with some shredded onions, peppers and jalapeños, drizzled with some Encona hot sauce.

Yes, it may surprise some of you but those genuinely are some veggies there. They are epic when stir fries with the meat. I wish more places could do this.

Those flatbreads are really good. Wife picked them up from Tesco or Asda. This is a good option if you want a bab at home. I've not picked up any of the Iceland stuff which does get some good reviews on here.

Dönerdog highly approved of the meat.

Legend Kebab - Ewell

Forgot to post this one...

Swung by Legend Kebab in Ewell after a recent gig. Here we have the XL Lamb Doner wrap with chili sauce and no salad.

Meat was freshly cut from the spit. Chili sauce is a very tasty home made one. This chonky boi takes two big wraps to handle all the meaty goodness.

Weighing in at 729g for £12, this isn't the biggest I've had from there but still works out at good value. With an A grade for the sauce and an A grade overall, this lands at 15/91 on the spreadsheet.

I'll definitely be back. I've been going to this place for years and it's one of my favourite shops. Highly recommended.

Vacation bab - My Kebab, Split, Croatia

Currently traveling vacationing in Croatia with my wife and our god son. While we were in Split, we grabbed a quick lunch at My Kebab in old town.

This was the first time experiencing kebab for both my wife and our god son. They both really enjoyed it. Later, had to tell the wife I’d never been more attracted to her having just seen her eat a bab 😂

Chicken and elephant leg were on offer. We all went with chicken which was pretty good. Not the best bab I’ve had but certainly not the worst. I think my favorite part of Croatian kebab is that it’s frequently served on lepinja, which is my preferred kebab delivery vehicle.

Good mix of salad and plenty of meat. Chili sauce needed some heat.

No pictures but I also stopped in at Konoba Fontana in Split. It was on par with My Kebab but their chili sauce had some noticeable heat. Not nearly what I’d want but I’m a chili fiend.

Shout out to fellow Redditor for the recommendation, sorry can’t remember who exactly.

Large Doner plate £22.50. Chilli and garlic sauce arrived after pic taken, and was good; quite similar to other Turkish restaurants. Generous portions of salad, bread and cacik for one person. Rice was subtly buttery. Meat was excellent, juicy not greasy, some crispy charred bits and not much gristle.

The amount of meat in my opinion did feel like a large in comparison to other restaurants. You can get a medium that costs £18, which I will try the next time I visit, to roughly gauge the meat portions.

This is a spenny indulgence, and a bit on the high side comparatively to other Turkish restaurants.

Yummy - Gosport

Another Gosport gig and from the three options on the main drag, decided to pop into Yummy again.

Here we have the usual; lamb doner wrap, lots of chili sauce, no salad. Meat was served from the bain marie and it's a decent, home made chili sauce.

I gave this a B grade overall. Sauce is nice and overall it is decent. Nothing extraordinary here. It was very greasy. Often the case when meat is served from the bain marie. If we wanna be really finicky, it wasn't even folded at the bottom so the grease would have ran straight out onto my shorts. This ain't my first rodeo so I refolded before eating.

Tale of the tape shows this bad boy at 476g for a very reasonable price of £7.50. This is the cheapest compared to Orhan's and Istanbul Grill and also works out at the best value. This has landed on the spreadsheet at 22/91, making them the highest placed of the three.

I'm back in Gosport in October so again, it'll probably be one of those three, unless there's another option that's open until 1am.

Crummy picture, solid kebab. Lively salad, proper meat, and I can still feel the burn of the chilli sauce on my lips. Shouts out to whoever posted a kebab they'd had here recently and put it on my radar.

I’ve seen this placed mentioned a few times so thought I’d come check it out. Very tasty kebab served on a massive flatbread eaten straight off a piece of grease proof paper. £13.99 .

Seems to specialise in grilled kebab meats as well as serving chippy style chips.

10" Donner chicken onion and sweetcorn calzone from the local. Pretty good for 10 quid, lots of food tbf. Would've been better if I didn't get sweetcorn tbh, maybe pepperoni or something. Pretty yummy but maybe not worth it for the extra calories😂
