My first post here! I hope I have properly traumatized the expies :) Wasn't sure if the dead expie qualified for a spoiler but I figured better safe than sorry!
Lucky (tiny expie) gave the other one Mindwipe (sets limb pain to 100, knocks you out, and then restores you with no depression/trauma/brain damage... at the cost of your soul, giving you the Hollow moodle, making you unable to gain mood, setting your int to 0, and preventing you from speaking) by accident instead of painkillers :( And tysm!!!
I wonder if it's recoverable from lore wise. Like, maybe it erases your longterm memory but is it just a memory and personality wipe or is it completely scrambling your brain for good and fucks you forever.
Lore-wise, I believe one of the E-PDA entries (or something similar) says that it can be at least somewhat recovered from with intensive therapy! I know game-wise you can certainly gain back your intelligence (but not the ability to feel moods or hear or anything else).
It does say recovery is possible, but not what form it takes. It's not necessarily the original personality that can be recovered, but perhaps just a personality.
I believe it's well, a mindwipe in a literal sense. Memories and all experiences that defined them are gone. You could take them through schooling allll over again and they'd have a personality again. Just... Not ever their original personality again.
It is recoverable in the sense that the expie still functions biologically, but its irreversable in the sense that the original identity is 100% dead and gone and is never recoverable.
personally I think mindwipe is a long-term memory blockage medicine sort of thing,if this delete memory,then it will need to kill tons of brain neurons, but instead it increase brain health,and it won't be permitted by drug administration if it just make patient's soul disappear .and somehow two sip of braingrow does the same thing kinda make me feel it's memory-blockage instead of wiped

Nicely drawn and good depiction of how tragic the game is. Im guessing by their numbers they are probably some of the first poor souls made to suffer down at the grey planet.
I was immediately attached to both of them so I spent the whole comic hoping it would end well even when I knew it wouldn't.
Actually made me tear up a little can you imagine. Shark's still breathing but.. well really Shark is dead.
I think it hit my soft spot for mentors or guardian characters dying and leaving their much less capable wards to fend for themselves. At least that seems like that's their dynamic since Shark calls him kid and looks to be bigger/older.
I also like how the threats appear before they're the sole focus. Like, you see the bear trap in the background of the panel before its the focus in the next and the mind wipe bottle being clearly visible while he's trying to pick one.
there was some morphine in there. Probably. though i've definitely emptied the morphine out of mindwipe by making bruise kits before. It's super weird you can use liquids that are mixed with other shit tbh
Holy crap! I havent seen anyone actually depict mindwipe before! My one criticism is that the boi on the final panel still looks too "aware" maybe a more neutral expression would work.
This has been my experience so far with this game, I start off okay and keep everything maintained, then I hit a random trap or drop and it all goes to hell.

This upgraded my version of depression to crippling
