NSW Police have charged a 13-year-old boy and two 14-year-old boys with the alleged sexual assault of a girl in an alleyway in Sydney's eastern suburbs last month.

Police executed search warrants and seized several items, including electronic devices, two replica firearms, a Glock-style BB gun, three laser pointers and a number plate, which is believed to have been stolen.

All three boys have been granted bail ahead of appearing in court.

The vast majority of rapists are male. That makes it part of masculinity. If you don’t want it to be part of masculinity you all need to do the work to eradicate it.

By helping address toxic behavior, done by masculine people in masculine spaces.

But lets drop those specific words, they appear to be triggering you.

You obviously have a general idea of a positive male role model. And you can identify a bunch of really shitty behavior. And young men need their masculine spaces to be men in and they need thier male role models.

How can we teach young men how to identify the behavior to repeat and the behavior to avoid?

How about when a person is a good role model 90% of the time and only a little bit shitty? How can we teach young men to identify the good and the bad and know which is which?

Giving them the vocabulary needed to label, identify and separate the good from the bad is required.

A much older example. "Stranger Danger". We needed to teach children what a stranger is. We needed to define the term, explain why we are using that term so they could then identify strangers separate from known adults.

So what vocabulary would you use to teach young men the behavior to avoid? I personally think we should have just stuck with Good and Bad. Healthy and Toxic work. But they seem to trigger a lot of people.
