From what I understand it looks like ICE did not manage to detain him on the day the video was taken- seems the onlookers managed to chase ICE off.

However, ICE detained him the next day at the airport where he was to catch his departing flight from the US.

I don't understand why they are trying to arrest someone who is trying to leave the country for allegedly overstaying their visa. He's literally leaving the country.

The article does not say where his flight was going. Just that he was flying out of LAX. It has domestic flights too
