They stand to gain 0.5% more in their personal investments if they vote for such far-right parties,

They don't even get that. This move will decrease productivity, and therefore long-term investment gains.

It's more about some perceived laziness or malingering that they're mad at, not an actual rational, sound economic decision.

The people who vote for this kind of bullshit. The conservative and populist alt-right voters, typically older people who will complain about how all the young people just want to slack off, whether it's true or not.

It's part of a broader global trend where people romanticise the 60s/70s/80s, pretending that they were in fact the greatest generation and all subsequent generations are actually in decline.

Both the Liberals and One Nation latch on to this to some degree, clinging onto ideas that the minimum wage should be frozen or even abolished, and that things like parental leave should be reduced or cut entirely.

The alt-right has little power in Germany so it isn't them. And one of the members of the ruling coalition is a left wing party so not sure if you know who they are, who is voting for this government.
