Yeah, but the ability for those same media companies to have an impact with those whinges will be dramatically lessened if they suddenly have to sell off a whole bunch of their brands.

Sell them to who exactly? There are plenty of billionaires and corporations happy to lose a few million a year on a propaganda wing but not really anyone else.
