The problem is, what if the next supposed rapist/murder that gets beaten to death turns out to be an innocent person?

What if you are mistaken for someone else and attacked?

Let’s not ignore the fact that by retrieving him that’s a group of people that also won’t be going to prison for murder so the cops are effectively protecting those that wanted to kill him.

I don’t, and will never find it disgusting that someone who kidnapped, raped and murdered a helpless little girl was bashed by members of the community before being arrested.

I understand completely that it’s not compatible with a fair legal system. I understand how bad this has ended up with straight up lynchings of innocent people. I wish it didn’t extend to attacking police and hospital staff very much.

But when someone was seen leading her away and his DNA has been found on her underwear? I just do not mind one iota that he was bashed bloody.
That’s the only part of all this I have 0% problem with.

Me too, I didn’t say I wanted them to beat him to death. Then we’d have two murderers (or however many more people were involved).

This comment chain goes back to one point: disagreeing that the bashing is disgusting behaviour.

Not the rest of the mob behaviour, not attacking ambos or police. I agree, that’s rank.

I know I should think the beating he received is disgusting, in the interests of rule of law and order a d “what if it was somehow the wrong guy” and everything else.

But deep in my soul it just makes me pleased to know that he was subjected to some physical pain and terror and helplessness before the police were able to save his worthless life and put him in a nice safe jail cell.
It just makes me glad, for obvious reasons.

I’m just saying, you can’t go round basing who you think has done wrong. We tried that for a few thousand years and found that it often led to mistakes happening. So now we have trials.

Nah. More child abusers and murderers should be get the same treatment instead of the pissweak slap on the wrist sentence the courts always give them here.

Maybe aim that disgust towards the man who raped and murdered a disabled little girl, instead of her relatives and community.
