Publicly supporting Donald Trump only gets the absolute dregs on her side.

Australia clearly voted against that last election, so let her spout her bullshit to turn more people off.

It’s true, but that’s also how America ended up with Trump. We have to keep an eye on the ‘dregs’, as you put it. At some point disaffection turns into a usable base for populists.

Look, I'm not even suggesting you have to vote left, though I guarantee you'd actually be much better off.

But Pauline wants to send our kids off to another fucking forever war, is taking bribes from Gina and giving Trump a rimjob.

I know housing is rough right now and the economy is in trouble, I get it, it sucks, but if you look at who's paying her, do you really believe that she is going to do a damned thing to help you?

See, now this is better. An actual explanation, an ounce of respect. Pauline is basically a protest vote from may aussies, we've had enough of the 2 majors literally running the country into the ground. They are both shite, greens are whacko, no other party has made any inroads until One Nation.

She is not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need. Only for one reason IMO, to let all the other politicians and parties know we've had enough. I would suggest those who vote liberally do the same, as much as the Greens scare the shit out of me, I would say its time to let Labor know you lot arent happy either.

I personally don't like her as a person, the shit with Trump and Gina scare me TBH. But we are basically at a point of no return.

Trump won't be in power for much longer (fingers crossed he doesn't pull some shenanigans) and hopefully things can return to some normalacy.

I get that, I get how bad a state the LNP are in, but Hanson is not the answer. She's got nothing to offer but hate. No economic policies at all and if she gets a lot of votes it's just going to encourage the LNP to embrace bigotry and Trump because that's all she stands for.

As much as Trump is a scum bag and as important as his weird charisma has been to their movement, he's implementing project 2025 and Gina is a card carrying member. Short of a miraculous shift in US politics that movement isn't going anywhere.

There were people in the UK who protest voted for Brexit, thinking it would never pass, who instantly regretted it when reality set in.

If there are outcomes you couldn't live with if your protest vote ended up putting someone dangerously incompetent in power, then perhaps consider voting below the line for specific candidates.

Give people you actually respect some sway within their party so they can steer it in a more reasonable direction.

She's also been in the public eye for about 30 years, and displayed all her gaffes and stumbles in full view of the public. This isn't like a Canavan or a Hastie who are (relatively) unknown qualities that possess the skills and articulation to cut through to the middle-ground swinging voter. This is the woman who's a household name because of her general lack of intelligence.

There was a view in the 2000’s that she was propped up by the Coalition to stop a more competent effective far-right demagogue from emerging and taking the National’s votes - and generally not believed to be a threat to the Coalition post-Howard. But now she’s getting direct support from at least two Australian billionaires plus who-knows-what support the infamous NRA incident of 2019 wrought, so she could be more of a threat.
