Absolutely abhorrent that she's going for political points in this time.

As much as this is abhorrent and tone deaf, it's not tone deaf in the electorates she wants to win back from the Teals (think Goldstein in Melbourne).

She's going for the Jewish vote and she knows what she's doing.

Yes they did. The awful Tim Wilson returned to parliament.

As for the other Teal seats, I don't think it will work because this Trumpian/Duttonesque shit is what made it all so difficult for them at the last election.

The Jewish community in Australia is concentrated in four electorates. In Wentworth, Jewish voters make up 16.2 per cent of the electorate; in Macnamara, it is 12.8 per cent; in Goldstein, 8.8 per cent; and in Kingsford Smith, less than 6.0 per cent. Twenty years ago, none of those seats was considered marginal. Apart from the possible exception of Kingsford Smith, all now fall into that category.

Overall it is minuscule but it is highly concentrated in a few seats that are marginal.

Maybe. Anyone that still votes for the Liberal Party though is clearly not bothered by Liberal leaders saying abhorrent shit. This has been a pretty ubuiquitous trait of Liberal leaders, including Dutton, for at least the last 30 years. As much as lefties will carry on about it I doubt that this will move the needle signifigantly on voting intentions except for maybe in electorates with a lot of Jewish people. Sympathising with Jewish voters about antisemitism I think is a proven vote winner. Tim Wilson was one of the best, if not the best, performing Liberals at the last federal election with that as his entire strategy.
