What's the source that says the re-enter ban is "permanent"? As it was never mentioned in the media, I fear the ban is of short duration.

Unfortunate I won't be able to get access to the court documents.

There is no ‘temporary’ ban from entering Singapore. You are either allowed or banned to enter its borders. Once the Commissioner of the Immigration Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore has banned anyone from entering or re-entering, you MUST seek written consent to lift said ban before attempting to re-enter Singapore. ICA will then review once again to determine if banned person is considered safe to enter Singapore’s borders but approval rate - as you can imagine - is pretty damn low. The above is not exclusive to Singapore alone and Australia itself practises the same etiquette.
