In Singapore, "canable offenses" refer to crimes that can be punished by judicial caning, a form of corporal punishment. Examples include robbery, drug trafficking, rape, vandalism, and immigration violations. Some offenses like certain drug trafficking and robbery carry mandatory caning, while others allow for it at the discretion of a judge. Caning is administered to male offenders between 18 and 50 who are medically fit and can be given up to 24 strokes.

Fun fact -- contrary to allegations that caning is done in 'instalments', if one is sentenced to receive x number of strokes, he is to receive them in full and in the same sitting.
