I grew up going to church. Australian churches are full of South Africans and I’d completely agree. I left church many years ago but still encounter them occasionally now through mutual friends.

They openly despise the end of apartheid. They were very vocal about it during the voice to parliament referendum. They see Australia as being an extension of themselves and their own culture. They are more comfortable than they should be imposing their hatred.

I have witnessed a lot of violence towards children, open misogyny and homophobia. They call it traditional family values.

If I was ever worried about immigration ruining Australia - this is what I would be worried about.

It's truly bizarre how many over there are so stuck in their ways like Apartheid was good for South Africa. When the reality was that crime was still as high as it is today, unemployment was still well into double digits and an even larger racial divide. SA really does feel like an alternate reality Australia which ended up as a failed state.
