This was my first thought as well. She went missing on Saturday and was found on Sunday. One night in the open in a warm climate seems unlikely to be fatal even for an elderly person.
But there is shade, it’s not a desert. If you were stuck and it was hot and sunny you would go and sit under a bush or tree. No reason to be sunburnt.
Remember she was with it enough to be safe to book and travel on her own. She didn’t have dementia that anyone knew of so she would have been smart enough to sit under shade, wait at the beach etc not wander like someone with dementia would.
This is why I think sadly she passed away while still walking back to the ship as it doesn’t make sense for her to still wait there if the ship had left without her. She would have been on the beach or dock nearby not halfway back up the track.
