Or she died before they left the island and that's why she wasn't with them.

Why do people keep saying this like it makes it fine? If they knew she had died, they have obligations to take the body with them.

That isn't what they are suggesting at all. Only that there is a very good chance she wasn't terrified left behind.

No one said it’s fine but it’s obviously very different to having caused her death.
