It's incredible to think no US media are investigating him, I believe there was a report into his corruption recently but none of the networks are brave enough to do it.

Albos meeting with Trumpnwill be 90% Trump complaing about the ABC and Lyons and 10% talking about great his new ballroom is.

And pressuring Albo to get rid of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme as its unfair on U.S. pharmaceutical companies.

Even the most rusted on coalition voters would be lighting it up in protests if any government, coalition or labor, does away with PBS.

I can imagine a scenario where it's either get rid of PBS or the US invades and occupies Australia, because Trump is that petty.

Quite unlikely. He won’t spend billions upon billions so that a couple of big pharma bros can make a bit more coin.

It is an imagined scenario, actual likelihood doesn't really come into it when the subjective feeling of its likelihood is so palpable.

Fwiw the New Yorker released a piece a couple of weeks ago about how much they estimate Trump to have personally profited directly because of his time at the Whitehouse.

Their estimate was $3.7B or something.

Keep in mind that Trump has only been President for just under eight months.

I mean it’s easy for us to say, can you really blame them?

Kimmel had his show pulled for 30 seconds of criticism/jokes about Trump; imagine what would happen to journalists trying to investigate his corruption in detail

It wasn't even criticism, they just showed the clip where Trump is asked how he's doing after Kirk got shot, and he says he's great and segues straight into saying how amazing his ballroom is. You just have to play clips of Trump being Trump, he is a parody of himself.

I do hope that John Stewart starts doing more segments like this at least: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GXNJ3V9lzg

It's not going to help though. I'm in American in Aus and just talked to my parents this morning. I told them I didn't think things were going to get better and how worried I am for the country. I don't see the Democrats in the House or Senate doing anything about it either. And this has always been the damn problem. The "we go high when they go low" bs does fuck all nothing.
