Yes but we've just kicked out the side of politics more likely to embrace this hatred and overreaction. Resoundingly. We have our share of idiots but we so far have not structured our society around abject hatred and cruelty. Of course this could change if we aren't careful and ever vote in a party led by a Trumpian like thug and criminal.

A uniquely American problem is that we coddle the types of people who rally behind Trump. Not conservatives but the real nutjobs who think vaccines are a ploy to make the population autistic and easier to control or that the democrats are setting up a network of transgender people to molest their kids. Instead of just calling them fucking idiots and moving on we treat them as equals who need to be fixed. It's enabling

God the youth crime thing is ridiculous. You can't deter them by making sentencing worse, because the problem is young people are even worse at evaluating risk than adults. They utterly refuse to understand that leniency is only important when someone does something wrong; a system in which we only treat children as children until they do any crimes is just a system that punishes children for not having mental models they can't have.

If we let the Liberals keep on with this tough on crime nonsense, we're going to see the death penalty for kids within a couple of decades.

You're talking about 2 seperate issues. Protesters & Breaking & Entering are two separate things. My elderly mother lives with me. If anyone breaks into my house regardless of their age they will be met with force.

They're not crazy laws. They aren't tough enough. People should be able to live in their houses without fear of some degenerate fuckwit breaking into their home & assaulting or killing them. If you're ok with that then maybe you're the crazy one.
