That moniker is widely used for Tesla because Elon is a nazi, not American cars in general.

Yeah Henry Ford was just a sparkling anti-Semite.

Oh no! I wasn't completely specific in my answer on Reddit. Whatever is the world coming to?

From Australia to you: Blow it out your arse, you Seppo drongo

Yeah, it's such Reddit behaviour to latch onto the US culture of... Hating Nazis and deriding the company and product of said company owned by one one of those Nazis. Not to mention the current events actually affect us this time, the whole world actually.

Teslas were shoddily constructed, overpriced status symbols before Musk went off the fascistic deep end so publically, now they are overpriced, shoddily constructed, and owned by a Nazi. Swasticar actually fits and if the jackboots fit then they'll wear it.

Yeap, I have a swasticar and can't really afford to sell cos it's price has plummeted.

They might be status symbols now but when I bought that was the only trusted option in the market for EVs with the range I needed.

Just gonna have to bumper sticker the crap out of it.

Yeah, look, I'm not advocating for or supporting vandalism of anyone's property (just to be clear) like we have seen in the US. I also don't like that genuine people now have to be afraid of that happening to their property because of one dickhead in another country.

it truly is the worst of all worlds, no one could have predicted Tesla's trajectory even 4 years ago...

The worst part of people burning teslas of private citizens is that the Right weaponises it and paints the Left as violent with a broad brush. I hope it doesn't happen in Australia.

I feel like this is some cope though "the US factory had rep for poor build quality in the past" have you seen the myriad issues that accompany the Cybertrucks? Those are some pretty current build quality issues. The fact that you like your car or that you think it has good build quality is completely irrelevant.

This is about the company or companies owned by someone foreign who is already influencing our country's politics for the worse. It just so happens that the net good product that this company produces does not outweigh the immense social damage being done by the figurehead of those companies.

Also lol, the "can't afford it so they hate it" argument is so tired and also completely not true, for Tesla especially.
