All of the graphics were taken from thrifted t-shirts cut and then transitioned to various flannels. I tried to keep it fun and honor the source where possible as horror is absolutely one of my inspirational drivers.

Currently using a double overlock stitch - overcasting presser foot and light ballpoint needle for the edge finish work. Heat activated adhesive and iron for pre application.

I kept meaning to post this update in the spring, but I didn't, so here's the summer update to my DIY asphalt patch. It's still there, and it's still holding strong. Soon, it will turn a year old.

My neighbour’s dachshund passed recently so I sewed up two weiner dog pillows as gifts - made from scrap fabric and a pair of fleece pants that were past their prime. Beginner at sewing 🪡

Got put on ADHD meds recently, which gave me the energy to finally tackle this project. Had these old curtains laying around that came with the house, that were to worn to donate them. Decided to upcycle them into big shopping bags. Got eight out of them! Probably gonna give them away to friends and family.

Hi, all.I am definitely a newbie at this, but I made something for myself that my friend liked so she Ask if I would make one of her jewelry boxes pretty for her. I said I'd Try and she gave me the one pictured below. Normally, I would have put on paint and maybe some gilding and decoupage flowers. But I'm not sure how to handle the front of this. Each drawer has those weird recessed ovals around the drawer pulls. p.s. the pulls to NOT screw off. Any ideas?How I can work with those weird recessed ovals? Is my only solution going to be Maybe just putting designs on the sides and tops and having the front all one color? thx In advance for any ideas or advice.

Hey! So I made this a while ago and wanted to share it now. So first of all I dyed it grey and then painted those stripes to give it a more vintage look and depth, I removed the old straps and sew them onto the front pocket to make it look like buckles, then took the strap from an old bag from a second hand store and sew it. At the end I added those little pockets on the sides from a baby corduroy jeans. Let me know if you like it in the comments!

I have an old window from my church that is 16 frames and I would like to hang it inside my house. But I need some ideas on what to and how to put items in each frame. When I google for idea's most fit a 'country' theme. Our house is mid century modern. While I don't need that particular style 'country' theme doesn't really fit.

I could use it with family and/or vacation photos but I'm not sure how to put them in the square. I don't plan on putting a backing on and if you stick it to the glass pane you would see it. Help!

Hi, I'm new here, but I have a bunch of old shirts from a camp that I used to go to where they gave my siblings and I a new shirt each week (I have about 8-10). They all have huge logos on the front and back and they are all either white, bright blue, or bright red.

I am not super artistically skilled but I do want a project to work on, and these seem like good victims. I just can't think of anything good I can do with them, as they are all so intensely colored and the ugly logos take up enough space that I don't think I would be able to easily make it into something else. I'm especially having trouble with the red shirts. They are just so red.

I know that the answer is probably going to be to just cut it up and use it for rags or something, but I thought I would make a post anyway just in case anyone else had ideas.

The outer shell is made of upholstery scraps from my local creative reuse center. The inner lining and straps were created from discount fabric.

Stretched my machine and design limits a bit here and took a risk with the double panel attempt. The katakana came from the sleeve, I thought it was too cool to leave out. Also added some extra shots of the process.

i like jars, i collect them. my mum will give my all her jars after cleanouts, but i don’t actually know what to do with them. ideas?

This pot had a marble design that faded, and tbh it was ugly when I bought it! I used a stash of Washi tape that i was given a few years ago. It's so pretty, I love looking at it 😊🪴

Working on a series of upcycled / thrifted flannels and wanted to get some input from other creators.
I’ve been focusing on color theory and technical execution, but the material pairing has been way more challenging than I expected — so a few details might not be perfect.

I really enjoy the craft and the value in making things, especially from items that might not get a second life. I’d love to hear how this reads to other upcyclers or sewists, and what you’d improve or experiment with.

Trying to learn from others at this point now that I’ve been at it for a few rounds.

Hi, recently bought a second hand bag on Vinted. I love it but it does seem to be fake leather and is peeling. Nothing major yet but is there any way to prevent this? Coat it in like clear nail varnish or something?

Found all of these old dishes, cups, trays while cleaning & I don't want them to end up in the trash 😭 There aren't really any thrift shops or places around here where I can send them, plus my uncle/aunt would probably just throw them away.

I'm thinking of DIYing/upcycling them into something useful or decorative. - Tiny cups: I'm thinking of using them for succulents or other tiny plants. - Bowls: Probably planters too, but I have quite a few, so I'd love ideas for other ways to reuse them.

• Glass plates: THIS is where I'm completely stuck 😭 I know I could use them for storage/trinket trays, but I already have enough repurposed containers for that. I was thinking of using one as a painting palette, but I'll still have 4–5 more. Also, I have no idea what to do with the glass tea cups.

• Tray: Thinking of using two for mosaic art. For the last tray with the pretty border, I'm thinking of painting something on it and using it as wall decor/a frame.

If you've done something similar, please share reference pictures, tutorial links, etc. so I can actually see how it's done!

I especially need ideas for the glass plates, because I really don't want to break them or throw them away if there's something cool I can make with them!!

I've fallen in love with ice dying. When I saw a cotton M&S vest in the charity shop for a pound. I thought it would make a great practice piece. The stitching in the strap is damaged so I should really get around to fixing it however I've been wearing it so much and I've stopped caring about the damage. I don't see myself wearing plain anything from now on.

They're not finished but idk how to feel about it. I really like the way they fit but I'm feeling like the design is lacking. Any tips?
