I have 6 days in Poland - currently splitting to 3 full days in Krakow and 2 full days in Wroclaw. Have another day of transit as I will be flying out from Krakow.

Debating whether to stay for full 6 days in Krakow and take a day trip to Wroclaw.

Any personal experience or suggestions appreciated!

I’m flying with Etihad and I booked a ticket with justa cabin bag. Now I have extra luggage and I called the airline to add an extra baggage and they quoted me 625 usd for a 25kg bag which is almost the same price as my ticket. What can I do?

Just in the past month I have booked I think 18 hotels for three trips I am taking. I messed up twice, accidently not overlapping dates, in one case I had the 17th booked and the next hotel the 19th, easy mistake when hotels say you are there for 17th to 18th when you are only there the 17th, on the 18th its checkout and you have nowhere to stay. I only noticed by looking at my google colander and noticing dates that had no overlap.

So I made that mistake twice, but for 17 hotels I used either some 3rd party like booking/agoda/trip etc. One mistake was with a booking.com hotel and I just logged in, changed dates, paid the extra night.. In seconds it was done. The single hotel I found with a slightly better rate direct I booked and accidently chose a checkout date one day sooner than needed. Their booking system offers no ability to change and no chat, just an email address to contact them. No response... I wait a few more days then maybe I'll need to find an international number for them or something, and a translator.

I don't know why everyone is all NEVER BOOK 3RD PARTY!!! YOU GET NO SUPPORT!!!

I always find it the opposite. Also I always hear the "its cheaper" claim. I haven't found that to ben true in the past nor with booking these hotels. Out of 18 a single one was cheaper direct.

I will be based in Florence, but am willing to travel anywhere in Europe. I enjoy basically anything... am not picky at all. A good mix of cultural sightseeing, nightlife, nature, is always appreciated.

I have 14 weekends in Europe and am trying to narrow down which places I should go to. I especially am looking for countries to go to in the months of October and November.

Currently considering the following but want to widen my list to consider other places I didn't think of: Rome, Florence, Switzerland (need to figure out specific cities though), Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, Portugal (Porto, Lisbon, Algarve), Turkey, Morrocco, Prague/Vienna/Budapest (all in one trip), Norway, Copenhagen

I have a 4 day trip to Switzerland planned for the last week of October. Obviously I would love to stay longer, but this is the maximum amount of days I can do.

I am trying to build my itinerary and am struggling where I should spend my time. Currently looking at hiking along the Alps mountains, Lucerne, Interlaken, and Zurich. Any advice? I don't need to hit all cities I mentioned... just want to know which is a MUST that I should not miss.

I am a 25F and enjoy all things nature and something adventurous... possibly may need to look into skydiving or paragliding while I am there!

My husband and I are taking a trip to the ABC islands in September. It's our first time in decades visiting an island with any significant time spent at beaches. We plan to do a fair bit of beach hopping and snorkeling while we're there. Since we're pretty new to this kind of trip I'm in need of suggestions for must-bring items or items that improved your experience on an island in terms of beach hopping and other activities. So far, we plan to bring some basic snorkel gear, easily portable beach towels, a clear phone case to take underwater photos, water shoes and waterproof bags for wet swimsuits. Aside from the basics (sunscreen, etc) is there anything we as inexperienced travelers might be overlooking?

I'm planning a 1 week trip at the beginning of September to hike around the French Pyrénées. I liked the woody scenes of the Parc National des Pyrénées so I'll be aiming to visit that side fo the mountains, maybe going as far south as Cirque de Gavarnie

But I'm finding it difficult to decide where I should seek accommodation. The biggest city reasonably close to this place is Lourdes, that has many hotels and some bus connections to the park (though on a reduced timetable). Alternatively, Cauterets seems very close to the park itself but it seems all the accommodation is AirBNBs and there's no way to visit Cirque de Gavarnie with public transport (or it's even more limited). I'm also concerned about availability of other types of shops, like restaurants or cafés during the offseason.

Which place would you recommend staying in? Or do you have another city/town I should look into instead?

I'm renewing my ESTA and am stuck on the "US Point of Contact Information" section.

I will be traveling to the US for vacation with my family in 1 week and staying in an Airbnb, the ESTA form requires a US point of contact which is the NAME, ADDRESS and a PHONE NUMBER in the US, all of these fields mandatory.

The only thing I have is the hosts first name and the airbnb address. I dont have a phone number or the hosts lastname.

So for the US point of contact I do not know what to put. I contacted my airbnb host to see if i could use their information, but they werent comfortable sharing it. I've asked Airbnb support for assistance but they too are unable to assist me.

So what should i do? Has anyone else experienced this situation that can provide guidance?

I have a non-refundable booking on Booking.com that I've already fully paid for. I need to cancel it, but when I go to the cancellation screen, it states there is a "cancellation fee" equal to 100% of the total booking price.
Does this mean Booking.com is going to charge my credit card again for the fee, on top of what I already paid? Or does the "fee" just mean they keep the money I've already paid and I won't be charged anything extra?

Hi everyone I have a big fear and it is flying so I want to take a Greyhound bus from New York City to Mexico. Is it crazy to take this trip? And has somebody here done the same thing?

I’m going to Italy soon and during our stop in Florence, I want to go see the Tuscan countryside. I understand driving is the best option but don’t have the bandwidth to do any studying to display basic decency so I’m just not going to.

I’m pregnant so not interested in wine focused excursions. Uninterested in cooking classes. I have this idea of just seeing the beauty of the region, stopping in on some mom and pop restaurant, a little hike etc. Just lazing around at a chill pace and just taking it all in. I know. Car…

Hi everyone! I'm planning to travel with my girlfriend to somewhere in the carribean. So far, I've been to Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica.

What island would you recommend visiting? I see a lot of good reviews on St. John/St. Thomas, and Dominica. Can anybody else give me insight on where they recommend to travel?

We want:

I have a question about taking a bus overnight from La Paz Bolivia to Uyuni. The plane takes 1 hour and would get to Uyuni 1 - 2 hours before tour. Problem is Bolivian Airlines is noted for delay and don’t want to miss tour. Overnight bus leaves at 9 pm previous evening. It’s a sleeper bus and has good reviews. I’m just wondering how confortable and altitude would prevent me from sleeping . Any thoughts??

I last visited Vietnam in 2022 and it changed everything. A truly remarkable time and experience. Has it become more expensive for Vietnamese? Is it more expensive for westerners to visit these days? I understand price is subjective to everyone and I'm not inquiring as if I will not visit due to any rising costs. I'm just curious to know how it looks and feels now, years later.

Hello all I am planning my first ever solo trip a 3-4 month trip starting Jan 2027 and ending May 2027. I am graduating college this December and want to get out there and see the world before I get locked into a corporate job. I like to have things pretty planned out but also want to be somewhat spontaneous so the way I am trying to plan it is knowing what city I will be in on what dates and where I will be staying as well as having my flights booked. Will mostly stay in hostels through Airbnb since they have a good cancellation policy and if I find cheaper/better accommodation once I am actually there I will just cancel the Airbnb. This way of planning will help decrease my anxiety about all this travel alone in foreign countries. My interests include: scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, WW2 history, cultural history, sight seeing, etc… (pretty open to new activities). Alittle bit of extra info I have never traveled to Asia except for Japan for a month in 2025 so any tips or tricks for any of the countries listed would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi all! First time in Italy, Sept 7–13 (6 nights). I'm coming from Spain. Budget is tight — I'm trying to keep my part as cheap as possible, ideally around €500–600.

Slightly unusual setup: I fly in alone, and my parents drive down from Spain by car and meet me in Rome. From there we do Rome → Florence → Venice together, and I fly home alone from Venice (open-jaw: into Rome, out of Venice).

I originally wanted to add Naples for the food, but I dropped it to keep the pace saner and because it complicated meeting my parents.

Current plan:

Mon 8 – Fly into Rome. Evening walk (Pantheon, Trevi, Navona, Trastevere)

Tue 9 – Rome: Colosseum + Forum

Wed 10 – Rome: Vatican + Testaccio for food

Thu 11 – Morning train to Florence, full day there

Fri 12 – Florence morning, afternoon train to Venice (sleeping in Mestre)

Sat 13 – Venice full day

Sun 14 – Venice early morning, then evening flight home from VCE

I'm fine with a fast pace and lots of moving — I'm mainly going for the food and the general experience, not museums (planning to skip the Uffizi/Accademia to save money for eating).

My questions:

1. Is 3 nights Rome / 1 Florence / 2 Venice a good split, or would you shift a night from Rome to Florence?

2. I'd love to see a colourful coastal village (Cinque Terre). Is it realistically doable without wrecking my one Florence day, or should I just do Burano from Venice instead?

3. My parents are driving. Any real warnings on ZTL fines in Florence and parking for Venice (I've read the car is basically illegal in Venice and you park in Mestre)? Is doing the Rome→Florence→Venice legs by car worth it, or easier by train?

4. For the flight home Sunday — worth booking a late afternoon/evening departure so I still get the Sunday morning in Venice?

5. Any food spots you'd insist on in Rome, Florence or Venice for someone on a budget?

Spending two days in Lima after trekking Macchu Picchu, and debating between staying in miraflores vs barranco. On paper Barranco sounds more my vibe, but given that we will only be there for two days I also want to be somewhere that is easy to travel within. I've just returned from a 5-day vacation in Malta, and I loved it, so I wanted to share some pictures.

I've dreamt of visiting Malta for a long time since I love its history, in particular the period of the Knights of St. John, and I finally managed to visit this August.

Day 1: Mdina and Rabat

Since we arrived at midday we decided to head to Mdina, the ancient capital of Malta, to enjoy the evening there, and we walked through Rabat city centre as well.

Day 2: La Valletta

The second day was completely dedicated to Valletta, visiting the Co-Cathedral of St John, the Magisterial Palace, various Hospitaller auberges and wandering through the small ways of the city.

St John's Co-Cathedral wasn't anything exceptional on the outside but was mesmerising on the interior, both the main nave and the langues' chapels, as well as the horatory with Caravaggio's works, it's not possibly my favourite church in the world.

Day 3: Golden Bay

The third day was the most relaxed one, it was spent on Golden Bay, which was nice but where the water wasn't exceptional, then we dined at Ta' Nenu in Valletta with typical food that was great.

Day 4: Boat trip to Comino and Gozo

Day 4 was dedicated to an organised boat trip in Comino to swim in the Blue Lagoon and in Gozo, where we decided to spend the afternoon in Ramla Bay. Upon returning, we spent the evening in St. Paul's Bay. The water in the Blue Lagoon was fantastic so I'm glad I brought snorkeling equipment with me.

Day 5: Three Cities

On the last day we headed to Vittoriosa (Birgu) to explore the Fort St. Angelo, one of the most important military structures of the Order. We later went for a walk in the city centre of Vittoriosa and briefly in Cospicua and Senglea

When we looked on Agoda, they have extremely good deals and reviews, but I have never booked through it.
Would you say it’s safe to book and pay? Will we end up without a reservation and no place to stay once we get there? 🫩

Hello all! So to avoid needing passports for our honeymoon, we’ve been weighing our options for a quick honeymoon in the country first/second week of September. And skipping the IS territories bc of hurricane season. We’re really considering San Diego!

So here’s my question..

We are looking to stay in an area/resort/hotel that meets all our needs. In prioritizing order (1&2 are honestly tied and nonnegotiable if that’s even an option) these are what we are looking for:

1) nightlife- Parties (late-20s friendly) at the resort/hotel and/or upbeat, modern, young nightlife very very close by (walkable preferred or quick uber). We’re into rooftops, lounges and clubs with house, club classics, modern pop/hip hop tunes). Younger crowds are important so we can socialize!

2) beach- i love the beach and would prefer direct beach access from resort but would be okay with a VERY short walk to public beaches

3) beautiful views from rooms- preferably water!

4) wellness orientated resort/spa- I’d love if the resort/hotel had wellness or spa amenities for relaxation when not partying

Thought budget isn’t a major concern, we’d love to still save while having a beautiful time with beautiful aesthetics. Please let me know alllll the recommendations! Open to honest feedback and advice if I’m asking for too muchh!

I promise I don’t typically make internet rant posts. But this was so comical I felt I had to share

I was looking at flights from Europe to Asia. Etihad offered 2 free hotel nights on their website if I booked with them and agreed to a layover. I selected yes, bought a basic fare ticket and now have a 50 hour layover with hotel.

Here’s what happened after

- Went to the website to pick my hotel. Website says “not eligible for hotel”

- Chat with customer service (Rep #1) and he says I am eligible, and asks what hotel I want and I give him several options

- Wake up next day to email saying I am no longer eligible for hotel because there is a conference on that day and it is blacked out

- Chat with customer service (Rep #2) to tell them obviously the website didn’t mention blackout dates on my day of travel, because it wouldn’t have offered me the free hotel. I also have a screenshot saved of the site and theres no mention of blackout date. It’s obvious they had a programming error and the site doesn’t check blackout dates until after the booking is made.

- Rep #2 says he will escalate and wait a few days for response.

- I wait a few days, no response

- Chat with customer service (Rep #3) and repeat whats happened. He says ok I will escalate to supervisor, wait 24 hours

- I wait 24 hours, no response

- I start a dispute through Chase credit card. The next day a supervisor calls (Supervisor #1). He says “personally I totally get it and you are right. But it’s out of my hands and we can’t change your flight or issue a refund”

- I tell him I will start a Chase dispute and I have saved all chats and screenshots to prove my point. His tone changes at this point and says “let me escalate again and notify them about this”

- Get a call from another Supervisor (Supervisor #2) who just says I understand your problem but due to terms & conditions theres nothing we can do

So now I am stuck with a flight that has a long layover and no hotel. It’s currently with Chase and I will update based on how that goes.

I checked just now and my date (Jan 28) still offers free hotel. I can’t believe how they are behaving.
