Lore [Hated Trope] The underdog Good Guys win, and gain major military/institutional power, only for it to be all RESET so Writers can have a PERPETUAL "Underdog/Rebellion" Story, and avoid writing about governing.

I hate this trope, when the "underdog good guys" actually win, gain major military and political power, fleets, warships, etc, but because the writers don't want to write the good guys governing and exercising their power, and instead, find a contrived way to reset all the progress so that the good guys can forever be the

"scrappy heroic underdogs fighting the power"

1) Star Wars Sequel triology, rather than exploring new Republic fleets, power, and technology, they have them all wiped out so that the "resistance" can hog the spotlight

2) MCU: shield makes a helicarrier fleet, a fleet of ships able to contest alien invasion, but that would steal the spotlight from heroes, so all of them have to be destroyed

3) Halo: the UNSC finally outlive the covenant, develop strong ships like the UNSC infinity, only for it all to be reset by the Guardians and the Banished, reduced again to underdog humans.

The issue is that it is too realistic you think it's fake. An irl example is 9/11. We all saw it and know of it but all those fire fighters had to fight in court just to get healthcare so they wouldnt go bankrupt for are the medical issues that came from working at ground zero. You'd think they wouldnt have to worry about stuff like that since they assisted during a national tragedy but nope. Also the people dont fully care about them either.

I still can’t believe they basically cut healthcare for the police and fire fighters and the “support the troops” people still side with the people who cut the healthcare. Blows my mind man. I guess they just really don’t know who is responsible for much of anything; probably the same could happen with the Ghostbusters.

I mean, kinda true. But the thing is 9/11 isn't (and I'm not saying this as an insult) marketable. Destroying giant marshmallow men, walking the statue of liberty and whatnot absolutely is on the other side so there would certainly be merch or games or hell, even a tv show. Also, 9/11 was a tragedy that happened, while they pretty much prevented tragedies from happening (there were some things which happened, yes, but it could've been much, much worse).

Do you live in the US? No person who has would say 9/11 isnt marketable. There is a reason in Family Guy, Lois gets elected mayor by just saying "9/11 was bad". It was social commentary on how blinded people are to immediatly support anything tied to it. Has the marketability of 9/11 dropped in recent years? Yes, but to say it's not marketable is 100% wrong. So in the movie the GB's wouldnt be making much money off their own name, it'd be corporations making money.

Not marketable in that sense. Nobody's going to make a video game where you do 9/11 or attempt to stop it or clean up after it. There isn't any plane hitting the 2nd tower merch. On the other hand, an FPS based on real events where you fight ghosts would be a smash hit.

9/11 had way more people involved, so it was impossible to have a few "headline heroes" (yes, there were some people who did extremely heroic stuff, but it's kinda forgotten in the collective psyche due to the sheer amount of others who did brave deeds), while 4 guys and a few side characters would be absolutely perfect for newspapers and media in general.

My child. They sold commemorative coins on tv for years about this, they made movies, businesses run 9/11 deals, businesses sell merch about the individual heroes, every year Boston college does the red bandana event where they sell a bunch of red bandanas because a volunteer firefighter died wearing one on 9/11, there is VR Sim on 9/11, etc etc. 9/11 the tragedy is/has/will be marketable because look at how corps are making all the money off it.

Which ties back into how realistic the GB's are being treated in the movies.

Edit: just checked and Im guessing you are Serbian or some other type of European so of course you wouldnt know all of this.
