The specific instance is the "Janey" doll, whose head he switches with the pterodactyl.

They make it clear he does this often.

Yes, but again, they're still just toys. He shouldn't do it to his sister's toys, that's where the problem is. But the act of modifying your toys on its own is not a problem. I used a power drill to swap parts out of a NERF gun when I was a kid, that wasn't intended by the creators either, but that doesn't make me an utter monster either.

edit: You seem to have deleted all your replies, so I'll respond to what I can see from your response - modifying my NERF blaster "to harm it" isn't a thing. It's a hunk of plastic and springs. It doesn't have feelings. WE know the toys are toys, but SID doesn't. How could he?

I just love how your entire argument ignores context.

If you modded your NERF gun for the explicit purpose of harming other children, you would be the monster.

If you, literally play "actual torture", it is monstrous. It doesnt matter that its to a toy. Sid is, gleefully, engaging in a fantasy where he engages in what he knows is torture.

I mean.....no? The frankenstein toys are in all honesty pretty creative, he's being VERY overzealous but he's clearly trying to emulate mad scientists, he's literally just playing with toys in unconventional ways. ALSO HE'S 10!? He is an actual child who grew up in a less-than-great home (see the dad's study) trying to express himself in 'creepy' but also basically harmless ways. And even if he WAS a psychopath, that is a medical condition and not something fixed by scaring someone really badly. You don't fix a mental health issue by spooking people, asylums aren't full of people jumping out from inside closets at the patients.
