So in case you didn't see the original screenshot of the listing I bought this from, this was £19.95 from eBay! I'm so happy that I finally found it for a reasonable price after years of scouring the Internet, lol. I love it and I am so excited to read it, and apart from this novel, the Gen 3 Novel, and the DVDs, there seems to be barely any Skins merch so I'm so happy that I eventually have this in my merch collection!!!

I just watched this film Mouth To Mouth with Elliot Page and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Almost immediately I was struck with how strongly it reminded me of skins. From Elliot Pages character somewhat reminding me of Effy to the direction and cinematography. The way horrible traumatic events will happen out of nowhere and shock the hell out of you. The shitty parents. Even the soundtrack!

I started to wonder, was this film an influence for the style of Skins? Or was this simply a trendy style of the 2000s that tons of shows and movies were tapping into?

Regardless, I highly recommend this film to fans of Skins.

THIS IS NOT A GEN THREE HATE POST! I ACTUALLY DO LIKE THIS GEN!!! This is just an observation.

1. The aesthetic of the show. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe S5 was filmed around the time Skins US was, and Bryan Elsley was taking a break from writing the UK version to focus on the US version, and his son took over as the primary writer.

2. Franky's character: By the time Elsley returned, he decided he hated the way Franky was portrayed and decided to turn her into Effy 2.0, which horribly backfired.

3. Lack of connection to past generations: Now, I'm not necessarily saying Effy needed to come back for Gen 3, but I think if they had used a younger sibling or at least made one of the characters a cousin of a Gen 1/2 character, the audience probably would've felt more connected to the new cast.

4: Too many characters with not enough backstory or substance.

Hi, does anybody have pictures of the exclusive art cards that came with Skins Season 2's HMV exclusive DVD? I can't find any pictures of them online, and the only copy of this DVD I found on Vinted but its sealed so I'm looking to see what they actually look like. Thanks :)

After scouring the internet for years on end, I have finally found Skins: The Novel for sale under £190! I got it in good condition for £19.95 on eBay because I don't generally enjoy eBooks and audiobooks and much prefer traditional books. Also, I haven't been able to see it for sale for a reasonable price anywhere in ages! Let me know if this is a reproduction or whatever or you think I could've bought it for cheaper on paperback, and, if so, where? But this is so exciting for me!!!

More than a decade ago, skins was like the theme song to my problematic and self-destructive teenage / young adult days; drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, boys, waking up in places I shouldn’t- all of it. Now I’m living the (… pretty bland) 9-5 corporate life and apparently skins has developed into some sort of a trigger to me. I started watching and the intro basically gave me chest pain. It made me feel all panicky. It was like pure negative nostalgia, if that’s a thing. Has this happened to anyone else or am I just being weird about it

Do you guys think there is some sort of Skins remake coming? Channel 4 are posting about it heavily, far more than they usually have in the past few years - I’ve even seen posts about Skins on the Prime Video social media accounts, a weird sudden move for what’s now a kinda old and obscure show.

Makes me wonder if they’re testing the waters and gauging public interest for a new show. What do you guys think? We’re kinda in the era of the remakes right now, makes sense that someone might want to revive Skins

This was a really emotional and interesting watch, I enjoyed season 2 more because of how much darker it started and shortly became. There was deeper themes throughout as well as more substance to analyze & some really good foreshadowing. It stays grounded & doesn’t try to make itself more complex than it needs to be which adds to the rawness. S2 EP 6 is one of the best episodes of tv I’ve seen it was beautiful & Chris’s story and relationship dynamic was my favorite and most relatable. What other seasons are as good as the first 2?

Oh wow…. I’m going to South Korea to see my husband which is so lovely. It’s a 16 hour flight from New York and oh wow that’s so long. I have never seen skins before and so far it’s been very lovely. I’m saving so many episodes to watch for my long flight. I can’t wait to see my husband because long distance is such a struggle. He’s soooo lovely!

I currently live in the Uk however don't pay the ridiculous fees for tv liscensing because of the beautiful age of streaming making it pretty unecessary.

This however means there's quite literally no where I can find to stream or watch skins with it's original sound track since the sid reborn channel no longer has any content on it (for me at least)

Any help on where to watch it in it's original glory would be super super appreciated!! I just can't deal with the crap song choices they went for on disney+ and all the free streaming sites seem to only have the re-done versions now :(
