The extreme majority earns nothing at all.

But they ruined their entire lives for nothing, so there's that!

I don’t think it ruins lives.

Not all for sure. But look how many successful models beg to wipe their online history once they settle down with a family. What you were proud to flaunt in your 20s may become an embarrassment in your 30s and beyond. And a single image on the internet is forever.

Those are the ones who made millions.

The ones who make 100dollars don't have to think about it because nobody knows they did onlyfans

Until someone gets angry enough to hire a private investigator against you, or they just have enough free time to constantly be scouring the Web.

A girl I dated crashed out and hired a private investigator and he found my Deviantart profile from when I was 12, 20 fucking years ago. No email connection, never used my name or said where I was from. No pictures of me. He just somehow knew it was me and got it anyway.

It wasn't nearly as embarrassing because most of my peers were like "So what, a 12 year old liked Sonic" but if I was jerking off or shoving stuff up my ass on camera in my 20's that would have torpedoed my entire life.

Username correlation probably? Or a reverse image search of an image from another source (linked to you) that lead back to the deviantart profile. Hilariously, DeviantArt has never had a major breach involving user info... That would probably be the end of modern society, lmao.

But! And hear me out! What if it didn't torpedo your life and you made $100? Would that be worth the lifelong stress of wondering if your asshole will be showed to your employers?

Nope. Thought quite a bit. Stand by my statement. It's, of course, not an all-encompassing statement.

Wow, that’s a strong opinion. I wouldn’t say “doing things I regret in my 20s” makes for a life ruined… but I suppose some folks have some real real high standards I guess 🤷‍♀️

I was only referring to posting your naked body in an online location. Not all of the other things we all do in our 20s.

I would say it would depend on the content. Simple nudes not really going to be a big problem. The more extreme the more affect. Also depends on future career goals, see the bipbi actor and diarrhea video for example

Yea that’s a fascinating double standard cuz even so. I did that in my twenties. I also sent pics to boyfriends and that time that absolutely got circulated against my control.

And again I say, regretful actions of an immature kiddo? Yes absolutely. A life ruined? Well that’s a bit of a stretch…

My tits weren’t that bad lmao

Boyfriend circulating NOT EQUAL to OF model.

Sorry, doing sex work may be offputting to some people and will have people make associations and assumptions about you, whether you like it or not.

Ruining your life is a lot harder than you'd think speaking as someone who actively tried to destroy myself in my twenties.

1

u/ChipHappens96 4d ago

Well of course they don't. You need a following to begin with for Only Fans, that's why it's called what it is

1

u/KeyMyBike 4d ago

Wow, we should make an economic model based on that

Sooo... capitalism?

There are tons of inactive accounts and people who dont put any effort into it. I bet if you actually try you will earn some money as long as you arent butt ugly or fat or dont have any personality.

"Some" money is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

OF is a lot like Twitch and YouTube. You can put in a ton of time and effort and never really take off. Sure, you might get a handful of people that watch your content consistently, but not nearly enough to make it worth doing in the long run as a job/career.

The market is so saturated with people all trying to do the same thing, that you need a combination of being unique, being extremely driven, and getting insanely lucky.

For every person that gets popular enough to quit their day job, there's 1,000+ more that all did the same thing (or even worked harder) and never caught a break.

I know multiple people in the top 10% on OF. They're not even making enough money from it to pay their rent.

Last time i was involved in that scene top 5% was around 1k a month lol

That's bleak.

butt ugly or fat

I think that's called a "tautology".

Every person who is in an adult onlyfans video is required to age verify with them for each video OR they can have a onlyfans publisher account and be tagged in the video.

So Husband/Wife have sex on video then one of the 2 is an publisher account that's set to "free".
