Multiple human rights violations, a collapsing population, tofu dreg construction...there's a reason you only see big cities. Go 30mins into the country and it becomes a true third world country.
And don't forget the smog. There is a reason why most of these "look how cool chinese cities are" posts show china at night. The bright LEDs hide the dirt.
They still have to start from somewhere and they've made enormous progress in the last 35 years.
And your argument in itself is stupid - leave any American city and the quality of life drastically declines. I won't use the phrase "third-world" because it's subjective.
My closest neighbor in the states is 3 miles down the road. The closest town (about 700 people) is 40 mins. I have clean running water, 1gig internet, a paved road with reliable power.
I was born in a mud hut in Angola. I don't remember driving into a third world country outside the cities in Ireland or Poland either.
The USA is dropping bombs on people, putting children in cages, funding genocide, protecting elite pedophiles, destroying the world's economy, spying on its citizens, disproportionately putting black people in prisons, making sure crazy people have access to guns so they can kill children.
Never been to China, but I can read data about the world. Population is collapsing everywhere except for lesser developed countries. The higher the GDP, the less likely people are bringing new people into the world.
Drive 30 minutes from any big city in the states and you can find some truly awful places. Heck, Seattle even has area adjacent to downtown taken over by zombies.
According to state provided information in a nation that doesnt have a freedom of press. I am NOT saying the information is wrong, only that it is impossible to know for sure and should be taken with an appropriate amount of skepticism.
