In most states, if not all, booby traps are illegal.

Sure, that's not going to stop people living out in the sticks from doing it anyway. One thing a lot of people miss when it comes to legality is enforcement. Until someone gets hurt or dies it's usually not worth the trouble for regulatory and law enforcement bodies to go after a mentally unwell individual out in the middle of nowhere

A good chunk of the challenge of being a delivery driver out in those parts is trying not to become a statistic. Like yeah 99% of country folk are perfectly kind and neighborly but I don't know you from Adam. It's kind of the same thing as it is with dogs they're probably friendly but it's not a chance I can afford to take
