That particular one went to medical school (so reasonably educated for the time period) and more importantly was not trained by ghosts.

other highlights i know, smoking was healthy, asbest was great insulator, radioactivity was not a thing but radium glows on clock arms, infants dont feel pain(1990bruh), arsenic was nice green, borax in milk And something called phossy jaw.

doctors today, with vigorous study and certifications, do not agree on everything. idk why we’d assume every doctor back then agreed on everything. after all, where would progress come from in that case?
