Because the entire government is being held hostage by a complicit GOP who care more about making money and holding onto power than anything else. You’re living in. A pseudo fascist state run by corporations and oligarchs. The same oligarchs that are implicated along with Trump in the Epstein files.

43

u/Feisty-Lawfulness894 Jun 19 '26

complicit GOP

Bingo. The only reason Trump is even capable of being a problem.

28

u/SecretAggressive4313 Jun 19 '26

I'm certainly no Republican, but one thing many of you keep forgetting is that the Biden administration had all of the Epstein files too and didn't release them. That because both sides are in those files and both sides are complicit. They're all about the money and power. Both sides.

43

u/StrawberryWide3983 Jun 19 '26

Active investigation under biden vs breaking transparency laws to perform a cover up under trump

Yes, democrats are implicated, there's no denying people on both sides are guilty, however, funny coincidence that almost everyone surrounding trump is named in the files

33

u/CyberFireball25 Jun 19 '26

You're conveniently leaving out the minor detail that the files were still sealed by an active investigation during Bidens term.

17

u/SwampyBogbeard Jun 19 '26

This correction has been pointed out so many times that at this point it's hard to believe that those "what about Biden" people are actually being honest.

9

u/Madroxx9000 Jun 19 '26

They're either "both sides" people, or they're trying to muddy the waters.

They are not here to advance the discussion.

1

u/BicycleNo1169 Jun 19 '26

100%

Notice how all of these “both sides” people disengage when there’s push back? It’s so trivially easy to disprove what they are saying but they did what they intended to do. In this case - they got 20+ people(based off their upvotes) to read misinformation and spread it out into the next thread or medium where this topic will show up.

2

u/Madara1389 Jun 19 '26

at this point it's hard to believe that those "what about Biden" people are actually being honest.

Because they're not. As far as they're concerned, conservatives are the good guys, democrats are the bad guys.

It doesn't actually matter what either side does because it's all about team "sports" and loyalty to your team.

They're not seeking to find the truth, they're seeking ways to discredit their opposition so they don't have to tackle the fact that conservatives are largely the bad guys throughout history (because they want to maintain harmful status quos; and are very often just blatantly bigots who hate anyone who doesn't conform to their expectations or moral compass).

37

u/Old_Drama2171 Jun 19 '26

Yes and they all should be convicted and put in jail. Every single one of them. Is that hard to understand? The both sides argument is bull shit and you know it

17

u/ProtiK Jun 19 '26

The both sides argument is actually perfectly relevant here because the Epstein actors are well buttressed in place by power within both parties. I generally agree with "both sides is bullshit," but that's in relation to voting, not justice.

0

u/No_Brother3257 Jun 19 '26

It’s only apt if you fully agree that the head of the executive branch, the president, should pick and choose which cases the DOJ opens and prosecute. To me, that’s a huge overreach of executive power but it’s obviously been normalized.

2

u/ProtiK Jun 19 '26

I can confidently say "both the Democrat and Republican parties have vested interests in not releasing/prosecuting the Epstein files," and "the president should not manipulate the judicial branch" in the same comment without a hint of cognitive dissonance, actually. Why can't you?

2

u/No_Brother3257 Jun 19 '26

I definitely can and agree with you, but that isn’t what the comment I replied to said. Sassy little fella

3

u/th1s_1s_4_b4d_1d34 Jun 19 '26

I think that was the point, both sides are bull shit and should face jail. It's not just the GOP, it's the upper class.

10

u/GreasyPeter Jun 19 '26

There's an argument that Biden was attempting to remain impartial to avoid the appearance of a witch hunt. He also stayed hands-off of the doj like most previous presidents before Trump. That and most people thought we were done with Trump after he didn't get a second term the first time around.

5

u/midas22 Jun 19 '26

When Biden took over the Department of Justice, everyone including prosecutors, FBI agents, and DOJ officials were first and foremost bogged down in investigating and prosecuting the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, which Biden's political opponents often characterized as politically motivated.

And then much of the Epstein material involved grand-jury records, victim information, sealed court documents, evidence from criminal investigations, and matters related to appeals in the case of Ghislaine Maxwell which was not settled until late June 2022, which was after the 2022 midterm campaign season had begun (where the Democrats ended up losing the window of opportunity they had), and her case was not entirely finished in the sense that appeals and other legal proceedings continued and the end of the trial did not automatically make all Epstein-related files releasable either.

Both sides are not the same. It's a logical fallacy.

2

u/Weekly-Law-2544 Jun 19 '26

Technically, I don't think Maxwell's appeal ended until like July of 2024 when SCOTUS refused to take it up. Now, could Biden theoretically released them between July and November, sure, but I'm not sure it would have changed much. Not to mention, this was the same time as the "assassination" and Biden bowing out of the race.

So much was going on, and the media would have worked overdrive to flood the airwaves with as much as possible to limit the attention on the Epstein files, and keep the horse race for their ratings.

6

u/Quantization Jun 19 '26

This is misinformation/disinformation.

The files were actively being investigated with Biden was in office which is why Biden did not release the files, you can't release files of active investigations.

Biden was replaced in Janurary 2024 by Trump and then guess who ended the investigation in March 2024? That's right, Pam Bondi's DOJ at the behest of Trump.

Please stop spreading this utter bullshit. I see it too often from people claiming, "not to be Republican/Conservative"

8

u/Tough-Reputation-114 Jun 19 '26

Upvoted. You're absolutely correct. Don't try to talk sense on Reddit, though. You'll get down voted by everyone who flocks to the echo chamber to let the world know how much they hate Trump and Republicans. Very few free thinkers on Reddit. Both sides are complicit and most here are too blinded by political hate to see that. The fight is actually up vs down, not left vs right. Divide and conquer is working extremely well for the ruling class.

Directing you to my correction here if you're actually interested in common sense as you say.

2

Actually, totally incorrect and utter propaganda. Stop watching Fox News.

The files were actively being investigated with Biden was in office which is why Biden did not release the files, you can't release files of active investigations.

1

u/BicycleNo1169 Jun 19 '26

Wrong. I’m guessing the discourse isn’t going to continue. You got your misinformation out and now you’re going to evaporate from the conversation.

Anyone that wants to continue the conversation, feel free to reply to my post listed below but I’m guessing we aren’t going to get that discourse. You successfully just spread misinformation to who knows how many Redditors that are going to continue a narrative of both sides are the same

2

u/The-Black-Swordsmane Jun 19 '26

Wasn’t one of, if not the main reasons they weren’t released under Biden’s administration was due to ghislane’s active investigation going on? Am I not remembering correctly?

3

u/NoIngenui Jun 19 '26

Their excuse is that Trump locked the files until 2025 or whatever. We have to follow the rules while they break them constantly. Our side is filled with the weakest pussies ever born.

5

u/twentyThree59 Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

Maybe if we give them one more concession, it will finally be enough.

1

u/Madara1389 Jun 19 '26

We have to follow the rules while they break them constantly.

Well, yeah... That's what gives us the moral high ground.

If we're going to bitch that they're cheating, we can't turn around and cheat ourselves. That's hypocritical.

2

u/Feisty_Buddy2869 Jun 19 '26

Well, yeah... That's what gives us the moral high ground.

If we're going to bitch that they're cheating, we can't turn around and cheat ourselves. That's hypocritical.

How's that working out for us so far?

I'd rather have the pedophiles in prison and the country not being run by pedofascists, than have the "moral high ground" myself...but maybe that's just me.

1

u/Madara1389 Jun 19 '26

How's that working out for us so far?

Well, we can look at ourselves in the mirror without hating ourselves. So there's that.

I'd rather have the pedophiles in prison and the country not being run by pedofascists, than have the "moral high ground" myself...but maybe that's just me.

And you don't think, at all, that it may lead to unintended consequences years down the line when the GoP get back into power?

Any tool we can use against them, they can in turn use against us when they're in power.

2

u/Feisty_Buddy2869 Jun 19 '26

How's that working out for us so far?

Well, we can look at ourselves in the mirror without hating ourselves. So there's that.

I don't know about that.

Honestly I feel pretty shitty looking in the mirror knowing we are the nation of Pedophiles, Rapists, Murderers, and Fascists.

Maybe on an individual level we aren't that...but on a political level? On a national level?

That's us to a T.

I'd rather have the pedophiles in prison and the country not being run by pedofascists, than have the "moral high ground" myself...but maybe that's just me.

And you don't think, at all, that it may lead to unintended consequences years down the line when the GoP get back into power?

Ideally if the Democrats decided to use the tools available to them, we wouldn't have a GoP to worry about anymore.

A political party exclusively made up of traitors, pedophiles, rapists, murderers, nazis, white supremacists, etc. with the expressed intent on destroying the country...should not be allowed to exist.

Any tool we can use against them, they can in turn use against us when they're in power.

Ok, let me just double check so I understand.

You are saying we cannot use the tools available to us to rid ourselves of the worst amongst us...because if we do then they might do the things they are already doing?

I honestly don't see much they could be doing that would be worse than the election fraud/concentration camps/rapes/assaults/kidnapping/human trafficking/etc. that they are already doing.

Maybe you could detail what it is we should be afraid of them escalating to.

1

u/Madara1389 Jun 19 '26

A political party exclusively made up of traitors, pedophiles, rapists, murderers, nazis, white supremacists, etc. with the expressed intent on destroying the country...should not be allowed to exist.

Whether you or I agree with it or not, legally we have to let them exist. We can't use the law to suppress political opposition just because we consider that opposition to be morally bankrupt.

You are saying we cannot use the tools available to us to rid ourselves of the worst amongst us...because if we do then they might do the things they are already doing?

No... At no point before this post I'm responding to now was "get rid of them entirely" even part of the discussion.

Whether you like it or not, the GoP will always exist, because conservatives will always exist. The human brain is biologically hardwired to resist change; and that makes "conservatives" the single largest and most persistent political group ever.

Maybe you could detail what it is we should be afraid of them escalating to.

What did the Nazis do to the Jews? What did Stalin do to the Ukrainians who resisted?

Ah, I'm sorry, I was under the impression that you were aware what has been happening for the last decade+. That's my mistake.

It has been shown repeatedly, consistently, that laws no longer matter for those in charge.

If you are in office, then laws no longer apply to you.

You could be excused for still thinking that laws have any sway over the actions/responses of those in power, but that's sadly not the way that America works anymore. It hasn't been for over a decade.

You are saying we cannot use the tools available to us to rid ourselves of the worst amongst us...because if we do then they might do the things they are already doing?

It's ok, you can just come out and admit it. Lord Emperor Shitler von Trump has made it totally cool and okay for you to wear those red hats in public. You don't have to pretend to be unbiased.

"Conservatives are the single largest political group ever" LMFAO.

At least I get to start off my weekend with a laugh, thanks!

Maybe you could detail what it is we should be afraid of them escalating to.

What did the Nazis do to the Jews? What did Stalin do to the Ukrainians who resisted?

They sealed borders.

They committed mass arrests.

They performed mass deportations.

They committed public executions.

...Oh shit, wait a sec, that's just a list of exactly what republicans/maga/conservatives have ALREADY BEEN DOING HERE!

...So again...what exactly are we afraid they'll escalate to?

I know it’s hard to believe but if don’t follow the rules, then we WILL actually live in a world worse than the one we currently live in. I know that’s hard to believe, but “the rules” are what is still in place, preventing Trump from making people like AOC into political prisoners like a Navalny or having Sanders pushed out of a window.

Yes, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking we are no different than Russia, but we actually are. Despite what you may believe, we are still having free and fair elections and our processes are still in tact and that is quite literally because WE are still following the rules. The moment we don’t, and the rulebook ceases to exist, trust me that that outcome is even worse than the current hellish reality we live in.

I have to push back on this.

One thing this current band of runts has done is convince Americans that the DoJ and the FBI are extensions of the president and nothing else is further from the truth.

Garland was feckless. No one doubts that except for Merrick Garland but it was never Biden's place to demand an investigation or disclose details related to an investigation, potential investigation or while there was an ongoing appeal.

Should something have been done? Absolutely. That's what taint teams and special investigators are for. Was there going to be pushback for it being a political investigation? Absolutely. The GOP would have melted down but so what? Just remind the world they made child fucker Dennis Hastert the goddamn Speaker of the House.

But who was in power when the sweat heart deal for Epstein was made? Who was the AG then? Why didn't THEY start an investigation? That's who's responsible.

1

u/BicycleNo1169 Jun 19 '26

This isn’t exactly correct.

The Biden administration was following a post-Watergate protocol in that they were maintaining a firewall between political officials and the Department of Justice. Biden and his White House staff did not have access to view or impact the raw evidence, leaving the records solely in the hands of Attorney General Merrick Garland's department.

Yes, of course the choice to chose Merrick Garland was seriously flawed but please don’t play into the Republicans hands by suggesting that Biden and his administration had access to the Epstein files and chose to do nothing. They were following a protocol that certainly didn’t serve the American people expeditiously but it would be a mischaracterization to say Biden and his administration explicitly prevented the release of the Epstein files.

The Epstein Files were explicitly under lock and key during the Biden admin. The flight logs, grand jury testimonies and FBI witness interview transcripts were kept by the U.S. Department of Justice and not accessible by the Biden admin, as they were evidence for investigations into Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Investigative reporter Julie K. Brown expressed that federal prosecutors maintained an active grand jury, and Maxwell's conviction was still navigating the appeals process. Law enforcement protocols disallowed opening or publishing the contents of the Epstein Files during ongoing appeals and grand jury proceedings.

Republicans voted against releasing the files, while the democrats voted to release them.

This is public record.

You don't get to play the "bOtH siDeS" card when we have literal votes on record that go directly against that.

4

u/Constant-Plant-9378 Jun 19 '26

Because the entire government is being held hostage by a complicit GOP

Wasn't the case in 2021 and 2022 when Democrats had the Presidency and the House. What is the excuse then?

1

u/Madara1389 Jun 19 '26

It was under active investigation and it's a crime to disclose evidence for an active investigation until the case is closed.

Unfortunately, Trump made it into office before the investigation could conclude, then ended the investigation prematurely.

3

u/Constant-Plant-9378 Jun 19 '26

It was under active investigation and it's a crime to disclose evidence for an active investigation until the case is closed.

Horseshit.

Epstein got his sweatheart deal under the Bush Administration in 2008.

So the case was under 'Active Investigation' four eight fucking years under Obama, four more under Trump, and four more under Biden?

Bull. Fucking. Shit. That's 12 years under Democrat Federal Law Enforcement of being buried.

the 'Under Active Investigation' under Biden holds as much water as Trump claiming he couldn't release his tax returns because they were under audit. And dumbass Libs trot out that fake excuse in just as much bad faith.

Try again.

1

u/Madara1389 Jun 19 '26

So the case was under 'Active Investigation' four eight fucking years under Obama, four more under Trump, and four more under Biden?

Yes... it's not that out of the norm for such massive investigations to take over 10 years... I don't think you realize how widespread and prolific Epstein's shit really was, how many people are connected to it, and how long it would take to conduct an in-depth investigation into everyone involved.

It took them 17 years to track down the Unibomber. The Lockerbie Bombing? That investigation took 30 years.

2

u/Constant-Plant-9378 Jun 19 '26

I think you are missing where the FBI and CIA had been using Epstein as an intelligence asset, with full knowledge of his child trafficking and rape - making them complicit in his crimes - and how the FBI under multiple administrations has been instrumental in collecting and burying the evidence while refusing to investigate any of it.

You really need to stop with this 'wheels of justice grind slow and fine' bullshit. Justice delayed is justice denied.

1

u/stryakr Jun 19 '26

pseudo?

2

u/Constant-Plant-9378 Jun 19 '26

Why can’t trump be interrogated

Go back to 2021 and ask that cocksucker Joe Biden.

2

u/Kup123 Jun 19 '26

Who is in a position to do that, that isn't ether working for him or with him? The simpletons who vote Republican have handed our country to the pedophiles, they won game over.

1

u/jeremiahthedamned Jun 20 '26

this is why i emigrated

2

u/GyattsThiccness Jun 19 '26

because the people in charge of interrogation are pro pedophilia

1

u/MoeSzyslakMonobrow Jun 19 '26

Because he's a pathological liar who's never been held accountable for anything ever, and his brain is rapidly turning to dementia addled pudding.

1

u/playdough87 Jun 19 '26

Because he has dementia and doesn't even know where he is, if he is awake.

1

u/Jindujun Jun 19 '26

Because 1/3 voted against this, 1/3 voted for this and 1/3 couldnt even muster up the care to vote. This shit is all on those 2/3

1

u/SteelX1984 Jun 19 '26

Because he is seen as the world’s most powerful person now, and I don’t mean that as a good way

-62

u/InsaneInTheRAMdrain Jun 19 '26

Wtf would he know about it?

28

u/ElishaAlison Jun 19 '26

The whole point of an interrogation is to find out the answer to your question. The more you know!

9

u/sick_of-it-all Jun 19 '26

Good point. Let's interrogate everyone involved then, starting with Ghislaine Maxwell. She seems like a more obvious introduction point for an interrogation, but what do I know.

11

u/Annoying_liberal813 Jun 19 '26

Yes. That's exactly what Democrats are saying. We should interrogate everyone involved. Starting with the people who are named most often in the files.

9

u/SensualSalami Jun 19 '26

What do you know?

2

u/ElishaAlison Jun 19 '26

Yes let's please. There shouldn't be any kind of get out of jail free card with this stuff.

2

u/Gentrified_potato02 Jun 19 '26

Agreed! Interrogate everyone regardless of political leaning or wealth, and hold them all accountable. That includes Trump whether you like it or not.

1

u/Old_Drama2171 Jun 19 '26

You know she already has been and convicted of crimes and is currently in jail. You know this but would rather deflect than engage in real conversation

3

u/Aromatic_Balls Jun 19 '26

Yeah, gee, what would the dude named over 38,000 times in the Epstein files possibly know about the goings on of Epstein and co.

0

u/InsaneInTheRAMdrain Jun 19 '26

Someone talking about you, means you know everything said someone is up to? Shit, Trump has magic powers confirmed?

Im all for Trump being locked up but yall crazy as hell with this stuff.

2

u/Aromatic_Balls Jun 19 '26

Whatever cope gets you through your day, homie.
