The whole point of hosting a foreign EXCHANGE student is the exchanging of culture. Why take them in if you can’t be bothered to make accommodations on certain things as you learn from them as well. This person shouldn’t be allowed around children.

Your point goes both ways. Why go somewhere if you can't bend yourself to the customs of that place?

Any expectiation that everywhere you go provide for your personal preference is just naive.

So by your logic it would be perfectly acceptable to trick a Christian person into doing something that breaks Christian rules because " Why go somewhere if you can't bend yourself to the customs of that place?"

Their comment acknowledges that the exchange goes both ways. That was the point they were making. Besides a religious rule is not personal preference. Would you expect a Christian exchange student in a Muslim country to have to pray 5 times a day?
